Story

Since our doors first opened in 1954, Canadian families have been coming back to Swiss Chalet generation after generation. Our rotisserie ovens only accept fresh (never frozen), grain-fed, Canadian Grade A chickens, because quality is all we know. So what will it be? A Quarter Chicken with fries?

Very disappointed with the food and service this evening. When we arrived was told that it would be at least a 20 min wait for chicken. Told waitress that was OK we were getting soup and salad. Got taken to a table that had chairs from the next table that was being cleaned pushed up against the table that we were being seated at. Lots of other seats available. Ordered the loaded potato chowder. Waitress advised that it did not quite thicken up was told we would try it. It was disgusting. It looked like a bowl of dirty dishwater. Only one bowl of it came the other turned out to be chicken soup. There was very limited dressing on the garden salad. My wife's soup spoon was dirty. Waitress never even asked it the chowder was acceptable or not even when most of it was left. Sadly to say this use to be one of our favorite spots to eat out at. May have to rethink that. Thanks to Todd who inquired about our meal as we left he was observant enough to notice that we were not happy.

The Truro location has been nicely renovated, however, I was there with a friend and her elderly mother and the floor tiles were so slippery that even our waitress slipped and dropped a dish of sauce. Treacherous.

So disappointing. Vicki was unfriendly and unwelcoming. Food was OK. Quality was OK. Our server was great!

Service was superb, was a little weary about prices but once the food came it was more than worth it. Best restaurant I've been to for the "home cooked" meal feeling.
