Story

Since our doors first opened in 1954, Canadian families have been coming back to Swiss Chalet generation after generation. Our rotisserie ovens only accept fresh (never frozen), grain-fed, Canadian Grade A chickens, because quality is all we know. So what will it be? A Quarter Chicken with fries?

Server was friendly but the food tasted old. When I mentioned it to the staff they did offer to give me a new meal but I was mostly finished and didn’t want to waste the food. I was a little surprised when the bill came that there was nothing comped or anything offered. Usually reliable quality food. Unfortunately not tonight!

When we do get to the city, maybe once or twice a year we like to go to Swiss Chalet. On the last trip We came to this location in Dartmouth Crossing, in which we have been a few other times. The staff was very good, even though it seems they were short staffed. The food as I see it was not up to the standards, I come to expect from Swiss Chalet. The Ribs seemed to be seconds or thirds, and skimpy. A third rake, as I remember is a bit bigger, I am not exaggerating when I say you could put them in an ordinary Hamburg bun and loose them. My nephew had a half rake, which was a bit bigger but we are talking maybe an inch longer. I did not say anything at the time as, like everywhere else I just assumed they down sized the portions, to cut expenses. I did get one to go, never said anything to the wife, and never looked at it, she did get to eat it the next day, her first words was did you eat some of them? There was I believe even less than my serving, although I did not see it. Like I said we do not get there often, not sure if this was just a bad day, or if they did cut backs to raise profits, did they even do away with the finger bowls as well. Really have to think about going again if this is the case, for the prices they charge, it is really not worth the stop anymore.

Food is great , floors are too slippery with a greasy feeling.. Makes you walk surfing your feet so you don't fall down.

Staff were great and service was quick but I wasn't impressed with my meal. I would try something different next time

Took 5 minutes to be acknowledged. And then another 2 to be seated. Chicken wrap I got was really old. The chicken was rubbery and the wrap bread was hard (like it was old). Some fries seemed fresh- some were cold, some were old and hard. It was like beanboozle bUT with fries. The server was really nice though.
