My go-to place for all kinds of protein. Fresh, cut to order steaks are awesome. Be sure to grab a pound of the gino's ground pork for your next meatloaf!
Great beef jerky. Picked up a pound and a couple beef and cheddar sticks$4 each. Would like to come back and grab some steaks, things looked fantastic, a little more expensive than your big chain grocery store but better quality and service. Great stop on your way to the cabin. It is small though, worth a call ahead if you want something specific or have a big order.

Up here from the Cities to celebrate our anniversary. Wanted to have a nice steak dinner. Found Swanks, had the look of an old school butcher market. Decided on a thick cut ribeye. When asked about a marinade and got the details, said yes. It was absolutely delicious. Tender and very good flavor. Never have had a steak in a restuarant that even comes close to this. All for $17 and some change. Great beef sticks too. Will make the drive back on occasion to enjoy another 1 of these steaks and other goodies. Thanks for recommending the marinade.
Their meats are very tasty. Steaks are tender and best hamburger around! Don't forget the rub and get your steaks marinated. Melt in your mouth goodness! Friendly service too.
Good experience and value. Marinated steaks are great. I have had venison processed here and am satisfied. They only take boned and trimmed. Smoked turkey is great. Got terryaki sticks in 2021 and they were some of the best i have ever had. They changed the smoker they had and the sticks came out perfect.
If you are ever through StCroix falls on hwy 8 STOP AT SWANKS!! If you're craving that choice cut of meat thicker than you can buy in a grocery store, stop here! They will cut to order and even marinade your steak, chicken, pork in a delicious marinade that enhances the meat. If you're a steak/meat purist go without. We've been buying meat from them for years and have never been disappointed in any cut we've had. Be prepared to pay a little more but when you factor in, the price is what you'd expect to pay for a good steak, but it's cut to order, it's as fresh as it gets they do have frozen cuts it comes wrapped or sealed in marinade and it's LOCAL!! You're supporting local! Not shipped in from??? Buying dad, grandpa, your man or wife! Gf etc a special steak? will show them just how special you think they are!
Reasonably priced butcher shop, I drive from Minnesota, because I can't justify paying $20 a pound for a choice cut steak:-/ Swank's has a great variety of choice cut beef steaks, amazing variety of sausage, plus they have lamb readily available. I don't think you'll find a better butcher shop within a 50 mile radius. A+ pricing... A+ variety... A+ service:-
Great work in a short time. All packed and tagged very neatly. Butchered 2 Angus cow's for me, and couldn't be more excited to get to work cooking. House made jerky and beef sticks were perfectly made. There is nothing like that small batch, hand carved, timed cured, freshly made, down home flavor they had. Only wished meat was packed in double sealed vaccum vs freezer paper. Like to see what I have but that's my personal issue. Great work folk's.
Great meat, great service! The staff here make you feel like old friends when you walk in the door. I usually stop in for steaks for dinner and you can always tell the difference in the quality when it's from Swanks. We also got their pulled pork for our daughters graduation party. We picked it up already ready in the cooker. Just plugged it in for a couple hours and it was ready to serve. It made thing so much easier for me on such a busy day.
