Wonderful family owned sushi right in our neighbourhood. Great quality sushi! Being able to order 4pc rolls instead of the full roll, is a game changer. We got to try several rolls. It was wonderful. We will be back!
Due to the corner pub being full we went to get sushi. Best choice. We had some Miso to start and then 2 rolls each. That was enough. Nice and quiet. Staff were superb. Since then we have expanded into the menu...still as good. Noodles bowls can be split to compliment some rolls and Miso. Vegetarian options: Available. Parking: No issues
How good is sushi 101? Well I have been three times since they opened. They are new and just getting their timing down so please be patient when you go. The first time we had sushi and my friend had their bento box. The sushi was very fresh and their tempura is delicious! Best we've had in NS The 2nd time I tried their ramen. The meat is amazing! 3rd time was for more sushi! This time we asked for a side dish of spicy mayo since I enjoy more sauce on my sushi and found it lacking the first time.
Honestly a bit disappointed. I've been there twice now and although it's not that the place is bad - it's just not fantastic. Sweet potato rolls are absolutely amazing - the tempura was still crisp in the roll. First beef teriyaki roll I had there was great, the second was not. Two of the pieces didn't really have anything in them and were falling apart. Had the problem of a couple of the other rolls falling apart too - they just weren't rolled very well. Miso soup was smaller than I expected but tasted good. I'll definitely give this place another try and hope that I just caught them on an off night. I just find I can get sushi in Dartmouth that tastes better and is less expensive.
The service here is attentive, genuine and warm hearted. After only a couple of visits they remembered our order. The quality of the sushi is fantastic and unmatched anywhere in metro!
Surprisingly good sushi. Salmon was nice and fatty contrary to NA opinion this is a good thing tuna exceptionally fresh, and the presentation of the agadashi tofu very good. Highly recommend unlike most sushi restaurants in Dartmouth.Food: 4/5
I have eating here a few times now, both inside and take out. The food is great, the price is great, and the service is great. All-around a great place to eat.
It wasn't my favorite sushi restaurant on the planet. The beef appetizer I got tasted like someone dumped an entire bottle of Mrs. Dash on it and the sushi itself tasted kinda bland, nothing really exciting. The owner's kid was also sitting in a booth a few tables away, screaming at a video game he was playing during most of the time I was there which made it not very pleasant. The owner herself was super nice though and it was pretty fast service. I know they are fairly new and hopefully they'll find their groove.
Excited that a sushi restaurant is now in cole harbour. My friend and i each ordered a bento for lunch and was not dissapointed, I've ate at many sushi restaurants before and sushi 101 will be my go to. The decor was very cute in a way that makes you want to dine in and the staff were friendly and inviting. The menu was also quite big and there was even a double sided lunch menu
The service was absolutely wonderful, they even gifted us with free miso soup which was the best soup I’ve ever had. The food was amazing, very fresh and presented beautifully. We will definitely be back. Thank you Sushi 101.
