Surrey Jamea Masjid is a peaceful, clean, well-organized, and has a strong sense of community. The khutbahs are clear and meaningful, and there’s space for both men and women. It’s open 30 minutes before and after each jamaat, which is really convenient. One of the best masjids in the area.

In my view, the Surrey Jamea Masjid stands as the largest and most prominent mosque in the city, serving as a vital spiritual and social cornerstone for the local community. Its location is exceptionally convenient, situated just a stone's throw from the bustling intersection of Scott Road 120th and 72nd and the Scottsdale Mall area, making it an easy destination for those residing in both the Newton and Delta neighborhoods. The history of this masjid is one of incredible resilience; as a branch of the BC Muslim Association, the community faced a major trial when the original structure was destroyed by fire in the early 2000s, but through collective effort and faith, the current grand facility was completed and opened in 2004. Today, it stands as a beautiful landmark featuring spacious prayer halls and a welcoming atmosphere that accommodates thousands of worshippers. The only significant drawback is the limited parking space, which can be quite a challenge during peak times like Friday Jummah or Ramadan due to its high popularity and central location. Aside from the parking hurdles, everything else about the masjid—from its clean, modern architecture to its role as a cultural hub—is truly great. It is a testament to the growth of Surrey's diverse population and remains a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the heart of the local Muslim community.

MashAllah, what a fantastic mosque. We thought we were late as it took us more than two hours to get here, but there were two Juma Friday prayers, and I was able to catch the one at 1:30 pm. Must visit.
