The food was absolutely delicious you can taste n tell that the food was season well a lot of options to choose from but not overwhelming the customer service was exceptionally awesome it's a must try for everyone
I was so disappointed in this place. All the meal here ranges from 22 to 28 dollars. The food is bland and the portion size is not worth it. Don't waste your time and money going to this place. I tried to support this place because it's black owned not a good idea.
VEGAN FAM: Flavorless rubber nuggets. Don’t do it. The Shock n’ Shrimp was shockingly underwhelming. Not an iota of seasoning. The fries were delicious tho. That’s the one star.
They get a 3 because it's a hit and miss. The food can be good one day then mediocre the next, I waited 45 minutes for this minus a wing and it was terrible. They literally only gave me half a piece of tilapia and it was dry and overcooked. I called and talked to someone who first said naw it's a whole piece of fish almost arguing, then said well I don't know I just do what they tell me you gotta talk to the "boss". Then I talked to the boss and was told this is how the $5 dinner is sold 2 wings and 1/2 fish but never do they say in the restaurant on menus or anything that it's half a piece of fish. It actually says 1 fish on the flier. My second complaint is the music they were playing while waiting. The speakers were turned up so loud in the back that the music could be heard up front over the TV's that were on. The kind of music that was played was vulgar, very inappropriate, and unprofessional especially considering there were quite a few elderly people waiting as well. I'm just disappointed. Update: Tried to give them another chance but service and food still sucks. Waited 45 minutes and paid $10 for 5 pieces of overcooked shrimp. 2 stars and I won't be spending my money here again.
Very good place with outstanding food. I ordered the Whiting dinner and 1/4 shrimp, I had to try the fried green tomatoes. Also got to try the beignets which were also just as fresh as the fish. Seasoning was just right . Hate I didn't try the greens I saw someone else enjoying them and making a purchase after a small sample definitely will be back for them. Clean place with good people ...you can't beat that. The people in there were extremely nice and helpful cuz I almost drove past the place. Going north it's on your right side and going South it's on your left. After calling three times... I think it was the manager... came out and waved me in. Family atmosphere memorable experience, definitely how a business should be ran . I highly recommend this place and without a doubt this will be my new fish spot and I'm easily recommending it to others
We got the combination, Fried lobster tail with shrimp and combination Hennessey wings and fried shrimps. The tail was a little overcooked, but good flavor.
Excellent customer service food was on point! Will definitely be back!
Had a catered order for my daughters graduation party. We had chicken wings, catfish, corn and potatoes, greens, fried green tomatoes with house made Surfs Up sauce , & fried biscuits. Everything tasted amazing and DeAngela provided excellent customer service! Guests really loved the potatoes and I should have gotten the large pan. Highly recommended, can’t wait to try some of the othe menu items like the crab leg dinner and shrimp. Thank you Surfs Up. You understood the assignment!
Thought I would try this place for black restaurant week. Walked in, the young lady was on the phone but immediately acknowledged us, and told her caller she will call them back. She immediately asked if she could take our order. There was a young man there as well who helped answered all our questions about the menu. Both were very professional. I Ordered the fried lobster dinner, fried green tomatoes and a side of collard greens. Loved loved loved all of it! The greens seem to have been properly cleaned, were seasoned and a pinch of spice. The tomatoes were very flavorful. The fried lobster was a first but won't be my last. Also, the place is small but clean.
Oh my God. What can I say? The fried lobster with garlic fries it's really good. The bread they give you with it is really fresh. If you haven't tried fried lobster from Surf's Up, you really need to get there.
