My name is Chad and I was referred to Supeck Septic service by my neighbor in Hinckley Ohio. I called to set up an appointment and it was very quick and easy and they showed up when they said they would. My other neighbor and I both had our tanks cleaned the same day. The technician came out and was very friendly and informative and I actually gave him a $10 tip because he did such a nice job. This is where the story takes a bad turn. I have lived in this house for 3 years and I have never had a septic system in my life. When the technician was inspecting the 3 tanks he opened up the last tank where the sump pump is and noticed water shooting out of the PVC piping. He said that I had a leak and should get it fixed. He told me that someone from their company would call me within the next 24 hours to come out and fix the issue, but this never happened. Later that week I called a friend of mine that did plumbing work for me in the past to come out and replace the elbow that was cracked. He came out that Sunday (5 days later) cut off the CRACKED elbow and we then noticed that it was not cracked but had a hole drilled in it. This seemed strange but since neither of us were very familiar with this we continued on with the repair. About 2 hours later my neighbor that had his tank pumped out also came over and said, that’s hole is supposed to be there it's called a weep hole. I was obviously a little upset at this point because we had already cut off the pipe that the TECHNICIAN said was BAD and put the new one on, not to mention that this cost me $80 more. When we unplugged the sump pump to do this work the plugs were so corroded that they also fell apart and had to be fixed. This caused another issue when we wired it back together. The pump was not shutting off at all which took me 3 more days to fix and almost cost me a new sump pump. I called Supeck 3 times over the next several days and explained the situation and told them what had happened. On 2 of the 3 occasions the two ladies that answered the phones told me that none of this was their fault. I understand that the plug falling apart was not their problem, but if their technician did not tell me the pipe was cracked none of this would have been an issue. The system is 11 years old and has NEVER had any issue. The technician also called me the first day that I called in and told me that the hole was too big anyway. This seemed strange to me because again the system had been working fine for the last 11 years?? He told me as far as the plugs go all I needed to do was just rewire some new ones. I told him I don't want to do any of this and they should come out and fix this. He said he would but he would have to charge me for a service call. On the second call to Supeck I explained the story to the other lady that answered the phone and she said she would have someone call me. I waited almost 24 hours and no call. I called back the 3rd and final time and I spoke with the same lady from the first time. She said that she had notes from the day before to have Lou (technician) call me. I said that I don't want to talk to Lou; I want to talk to the owner or the manager. She said no, you can talk to me! She apologized to me several times but said that none of this was their fault and that there was nothing she could do. I told her that all I want is for someone to come out and drill the NEW HOLE IN MY NEW PIPE, and wire my sump pump so that it works like it used to. She said they would not do that for free. I was going to stop payment on my check, but they did pump out my tank like I requested. I was willing to eat the $80 repair that was unnecessary, but I just wanted it working like it did before. Bottom line is if you have a TECHNICIAN that is giving information to customers he should know exactly what he or she is talking about! I don't think I was asking for much here, but I guess they thought I was? Thanks Supeck I will never do business with you again!!
