Space was small and so if you wanted to dine it, you had to get make sure there was a table. Didn't like the lack of plain fruit shave ice. For example, the mango came with cream cheese, strawberry came with red bean or else strawberry with yogurt ice cream which is what I had. Ice was too fine. Didn't feel it very refreshing.
The shop is a little cozy spot with about 3 tables inside for seating and some tables out on the patio with coverage. I got the mango cheese and although it has cheese in the name, we ended up with maybe 6 pieces of 1cm³ cheesecake. The flavour is nothing special, honestly didn't taste much of the bingsoo until it melted down more. Even though it's mango season, the mango was a little bit bitter as well. It did arrive fairly quickly, maybe less than 10 minutes after we ordered. I'd rather go to passion8 on cambie - where you don't spend $20+ tax on a meh bowl of bingsoo. It tasted more like mango with a trace of milk. Probably wouldn't come back as it was a let down.
Ordered the matcha green tea chocolate bingsu. It's a large serving so can easily be shared by three people. The bingsu was great and I would definitely like to try more of their other flavours. Service wasn't that great; we were waiting at the counter for quite a while whilst the lady was washing the dishes, even though she knew we were there. After a while she decided to stop washing the dishes she asked if we were ready to order.
There is a good selection of flavours/toppings to choose from - we ordered the chocolate matcha and mango, and while both were good, we preferred and mango one. The place is small with only a few tables but there’s also seating outside with coverage.
NEVER buy any of their toasts. I paid $8.50 for the Mozarella Injeolmi Toast which I think is ridiculous price for some cheesy bread but I remember having it at the Sulbing in Korea and it was really good then. It doesn't even compare to the one here. I don't know if it's because I ordered it to-go but I literally received toasted sandwich bread with a slice of processed cheese. I know I ripped it apart in the photo but it's because I was trying to look for the injeolmi and there was no injeolmi or powder to be found. Like the toast was literally marketed as mozarella cheese with toasted almonds and its sliced processed cheddar cheese.. ??? We also ordered the injeolmi red bean bingsu and the red bean portion size was ridiculous and the rice cake was hard. I probably would not come here again. Or maybe only go to the Burnarby/Coquitlam location because I've had way better there. My korean mother said this is the first time eating any kind of bingsu like this.
We got the injeolmi sulbing. For the price that we paid, it's definitely on the pricier side. It's very small. The mochi bits on top tasted like they'd been sitting at the shop for days very stale. It wasn't overly sweet as you could control the amount of condensed milk you put on it. Wouldn't come here for shaved ice again.
They were sold out of their mango bingsoo so I finally got to try another flavor and I can’t believe I haven’t had the green tea chocolate before. It tasted soooo good and the I love the brownies that came with it plus the oreos in the middle.
Delicious desserts ! This one is always my favourite! 3 star is because it literally took more than half an hour to get our order 1 bingsu ….…
Craving dessert on Robson St and stumbled upon sulbing. They have a few seats indoors and then outdoor seating as well. We were intrigued by the strawberry cheese melon bingsu, $19.95, which looked very nice in the photo. But the actual product we got did not look like what was advertised, so be warned! We were expecting it to come in a nice melon. The taste itself was pretty good though - the melon pieces and strawberries were nice and sweet. We shared between 3 people.
Had Bingsu, service was pretty efficient, good value and large bowls of bingsu, would recommend 2-3 people per bowl.
