Matcha lover is disappointed They are celebrating their grand opening this weekend and they are offering BOGO for three of the drinks. They finally opened a store in Vancouver! I tried their matcha latte yesterday - one cold one hot. This place also has press sando, soft serve and other drinks!! To be honest, I am not a big fan of it. I rarely give bad ratings. The cold one straight up taste like matcha flavoured milk. Both hot and cold don’t have a strong matcha flavour as I expected for a Japanese cafe. Will I come back for this? Probably no. There are definitely better matcha latte in Vancouver. Today is the last day of the Bogo deal. If you wanna give it a shot, go for it. ^^The server is SUPER NICE though. Keep up the energy!!
Had the jasmine white peach slush - it was flavourful to the last drop. All the items on the menu look interesting - would love to come back to try their matcha or coffee. Seating is limited but the place is clean and bright.
As a Japanese matcha lover, I was excited to hear about the recent soft opening of Daigyo Japanese style Cafe. I drove downtown to check it out and were pleasantly surprised by the small but lovely decor. I ordered a Matcha Waffle with Mini Mochi and a Matcha ice cream cone, and also purchased a $25 can of organic Matcha powder. The ice cream was good, with just the right balance of bitterness and sweetness. Unfortunately, the waffle was dry and lacked the proper texture. Upon arriving home, I was disappointed to find that the Matcha powder was of poor quality and had a dull green color instead of the vibrant jade green I was expecting. I've purchased many different brands of organic Ceremonial grade Matcha powder before, and they all have a similar color. This experience has left me with doubts about the quality of the Matcha used at the cafe.
Checked out Daigyo Café during their grand opening weekend. They've taken over this spot from a previous YiFang branch. There was a small line but service was quick and efficient. BOGO deal was being offered so we tried the matcha smoothie and white peach oolong tea $6.00 + $1.00 to upgrade to medium size. Decent matcha flavour but a touch sweet. White peach oolong was on the light, subtle side. The dehydrated peach pieces was an interesting topping. Will be back next time for their soft serve.
The matcha parfait is excellent. Love the strong matcha flavor. So far best in town for me. Will for sure visit again.
As a matcha lover~ I went to dt when I heard about the opening of Daigyo Japanese Cafe. The shop was pretty decorated and there was a long queue outside the shop. Signature iced matcha latte and it tasted so good! The White Peach Jasmine soft serve cone is a MUST TRY! It is so refreshing and a surprise in every lick
Saw a lot of people in the store so thought maybe give it a try. Ice cream is pretty good, pressed sandwich is okay, drink is not bad. Overall it’s a nice addition to the robson neighborhood.
Got 4 matcha lattes during their BOGO promotion and loved it the employees were really polite and friendly as well. We really recommend getting their matcha with soy milk which is really creamy and fragrant, all the best for your new store opening!

Great place to stop for a snack. The white peach jasmine smoothie was so refreshing and light. The crispy shrimp sando was yummy- crispy, nicely cooked shrimp. The service was great. I really appreciated the menu recommendations from the staff. Will definitely be back to try some ice cream items- they looked so good!
