Beautiful trail system in the heart of the city of Burnaby. Some areas when you are the trail it is hard to believe we have civilization just around the treeline. Heard and saw videos of bears on the trail so be cautious. These trails connect to Burnaby mountain making it a lovely pathway for wild life that pass through to rummage whatever little is left during the fall. This probably a way that wildlife crosses the skytrain and transcanada highway and enters Robert Burnaby Park area. I can't wait to see chum, coho salmon swim up these streams. I'll be walking around, so don't forget to say hi. A three star rating as I haven't seen fish yet and compared to other trails it's not up there.
A little bit hard to find if you are coming from Lougheed, however this is a very nice easy Trail right along a bubbling creek. It gets fairly busy, but most of the trail is wide and covered in gravel. The lower portion near Lougheed can get fairly muddy. Trail has a nice mix of shady areas and sunny areas. Great place for quick jog or quiet walk.
Good place to walk along the creek.
This is a beautiful creek where you can share the joys from a big variety of wildlife as well as witnessing the birth and death of salmons.
This area is pretty small but it's got an interesting stream/wilderness mixed with urban decay vibe. Super muddy down there when it's raining so come prepared. If you walk under the bridge there is a lot of cool street art, that I found out is sometimes used for competitions.
Nice river walk leading to mountain trails.
Beautiful Stoney creek trail and seeing salmon spawning there.
It is a very relaxing place and very close to my apartment, I literally have a little paradise 15 minutes from home.
A nice place for a walk. Salmon are spawning here right now, the kids were excited to see them. Lots of families about through out the trails.
I live here, frequently choose these paths as they are well maintained and easy to travel. Good hard packed wide trails make it easy to bike or walk dogs without risk of collisions. Salmon bearing streams and local flora and fauna make them a go to walking path with good shade in summer and good light in winter.
