Burnaby Lake Regional Park is a good place for hiking trail. You can watch birds at Piper spit. It is a wonderful place to watch lots of birds closely. You can go to nearby tower to see the whole view of the lake. However, there is no enough parking. In addition, the parking lot is unpaved. You know it is terrible in rainy day. When you walked along the lake, you cannot see any lake views as there are too many tree and plants at lake side. To improve the facilities of the park is desirable.
Excellent park with tons of beautiful variety of birds and a lake surrounded by nature trails which are well maintained. Wherever you are looking for a nice place for a walk, jog or run. Perhaps a fun activity outdoors with the kids. Burnaby Lake doesn’t disappoint.
What a nice treat on a Sunday ! I have never been to Burnaby Lake before. Thank goodness there are on site maps for the trails and observation sites. We did one of the elevated sites with handcap rairs and ramps to look out over the water. What a view. We only did half the trail I was just too hot to complete the journey. We stayed on the shady side. Lots of dogs on leash. And very few bikes going by. I promise I will come back more prepared.
It's a beautiful park with lots of parking. Just off the highway it's easily accessible. The parks are well kept with fencing and lights at night time. There is an open concession when there is events and most games. It's gated and really clean. There are wheel chair ramps. I love when my kids sports are here.
My favorite place for running or walking. There is a lot of birds and squirrels and frogs in the lake. Every season is beautiful and I am always taking a lot of pictures of nature and lake and animals. Always happy to go back.
Great place to spend 2 hours with someone special. Pretty flat surface with some amazing lookout points. We saw lots of slugs on the trails so be careful not to step on them. It’s easy to stay in loop by ignoring any cut out points.
Such a nice park for all ages to have a walk short or long and watching birds. It only takes a few minutes walk to the pier. You will see lot of birds there with such a nice view! If you go there in winter, you will see more birds.
This spot is my go to place to relax and feed some ducks. In the heart of Burnaby is Burnaby Lake. It’s decent size with packed gravel trails threaded through the park. Its well maintained and clean. There is easy access right at entrance for wheelchair and ample parking a bit further. Plenty of ducks to feed and always hungry. The birds will eat off your hand if you let it. This part of the park gets really busy on weekends and most evenings.
It's an okay park. Nice 10km loop around the lake for walking, and some nice views. However, it feels like the city encroaches too far into the park. Barely feels natural at all. No biking in the park, so keep that in mind.
Beautiful place for a walk! A few kilometers all the way around, so i recommend going around some of the smaller loops. Also check out Piper Spit, it has a huge variety of birds including a Mandarin duck, Wood ducks, Mallards, Green-winged Teals, Dowitchers, and Red-winged Blackbirds.
