As a former member of law-enforcement, I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would ever need a defense attorney. That said, my life was turned upside down and inside out when my bitter ex fiancé falsely accused me of domestic violence. We worked together, and she knew that with her accusations I would be placed on Administrative Leave and / or terminated (which I was) even though I never went before a jury "of my peers". I woke up at 3am to a call from a misinformed Clark County Deputy Sheriff. After being told that I was NOT under arrest, he read me my Miranda Rights and proceeded to ask a myriad of leading questions. Then he arrested me anyway based SOLELY on her accusations with zero proof and no other witnesses. They took me to jail and booked me on "Assault IV", & "Felony Harassment". My parents scrambled to find an attorney and thank god they discovered Steven Thayer and his team. These people are highly respected by their peers (even opposing council within the Prosecuting Attorneys Office). My bail was reduced by 20% by the bail bondsmen just because Thayer represented me. They also managed to get me released AFTER HOURS on a Friday night. Since my charges were DV related my guns had to be removed from my home before I was released. Steve's assistant went to my house TWICE while I was in jail to remove those items. They did all of this long before I ever officially retained them or any money changed hands. Steve Thayer and his daughter Jacey Thayer are 2 very competent attorneys that I trusted my life with. They saved me both personally and professionally. Regardless of what most red blooded Americans believe, the Department of Injustice treats the accused as "GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT". I never knew how warped and broken the system that I represented was until I was staring down the barrel of a felony charge. All I wanted from the start was to go to trial so that I could get my life back on track. For numerous reasons the trial kept getting postponed but in the end, after 17 1/2 months all charges were finally dropped thanks to these fantastic attorneys. I recommend them hands down. You can find cheaper attorneys all day but as I sat in the court room through multiple continuances I watched as countless public defenders and other various attorneys walked by dressed like Sal Goodman. I knew that I had the best because I paid for the best. Although I pray I never need another pair of defense attorneys, they would still be my first call!

In 2014 I was falsely accused of Assault 4th DV. I found myself tossed into the Criminal Justice System, which is the same system that I have dedicated my entire adult life protecting & serving others. Being a cop in the Portland area, I know first hand that the only people I could trust during this HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE was Steven Thayer and his daughter Jacy Thayer. (As they are the best in our area) I am proud to say that Steve and Jacy Thayer stand true to their motto: "PROTECTING THE INNOCENT, FIGHTING FOR THE ACCUSED" as I was found not guilty via jury trial. During trial Steve and Jacy were also able to prove to everyone that the alleged victim had lied to Police in order to get me in arrested.
