If making progress in a reasonable amount of time is important to you - look elsewhere.
I had an MRI on 8/3/17 and they called on 8/7/17 to make a follow-up appointment regarding the results for 9/12/17 - the earliest they had. I was told today on 9/12/17 more than 1 month later from the MRI that I have front and rear tears in my shoulders' labrum and I should go to PT for 6 weeks. For anyone counting, I could be more than 3/4 done PT from when they received the results if I was given this information sooner and hopefully already feeling better - especially since PT is required by my insurance before surgery. Why I had to go and take a morning off of work and pay a $30 co-pay to be told something I could of been told on the phone is also a mystery as during this visit I was not examined in any way, which upsets me even more that I had to wait. Since I have been living in daily pain with this injury - I asked my doctor directly why I had to wait so long to be prescribed PT and after some obvious uneasiness was told Dr. Desio. takes a lot of time off in the summer so I had to wait and "unfortunately that's just the process." and at one point my doctor told me "It is what it is". While I strongly believe everyone needs a vacation and time off from work completely - Clearly and more importantly it appears the practice has no real backup process for more routine patient care during this vacation period. For those wondering why I didn't call for an earlier appointment - I was told that if an earlier appointment opened up that I would be called and I feel I shouldn't have to hound someone to get care in a reasonable amount of time. Needless to say, while I'm doing PT and hopefully recovering - I'm definitely going to be seeking a second opinion as this last visit did not instill any confidence in this medical team's role in my injury care.
