Gotta love it when the cashier asks the customer in front of you if they found everything they needed, and the customer tries to explain what they couldn't find. Then the cashier tries to remember where that might be, calls one of the floor people to try and explain what to look for and where to find it. 5 minutes of this stupidity and the line up getting longer, I threw my stuff in a display basket and walked out.

I always trusted Staples - until today! I'm from out of town and had to make 3 separate trips to get a printing job done properly, and on the last trip I was treated with such deplorable customer service that I will not be returning and will rather go somewhere local for my printing needs. The first time I came in, a polite young man informed me that they could not print the book of students' stories in the format I wanted because it would require editing, which they don't do. He suggested I edit the document myself and submit it online through the website so I wouldn't have to make the trip again. I did this. However, when I went to pick up the book, it didn't look quite right. Somehow the formatting had changed between uploading it to the website and Staples' receiving the order. A young lady told me that my order would be redone AT NO EXTRA COST to myself. I pointed out that if I submitted my order online, I would get charged again for the print job. She told me if I brought in the documents on a memory stick, that would be fine. It was yet another trip for me to make, but I agreed to do this and left happy that even though I didn't have the book for my students to see just yet, it would eventually get done properly and I wouldn't be charged extra. Today, I brought my memory stick into Staples and a third employee was there I hadn't seen before, but she was aware of the situation. For some reason, she called over another young woman who told me that because I submitted my order online and had to "approve" of it before submitting it, I would be charged extra for any additional print jobs. I politely pointed out to her that the formatting was changed in the upload to the website somehow, perhaps it was a technical error, and even if that was not the case, I had already been told I would not be charged to fix the mistake. She insisted I was going to charged, and in a rather rude manner. When I asked for a manager, she told me she WAS the manager and insisted I pay extra to re-do my print job. I was so disgusted with the lack of consideration, I requested the original print job, which I had left with the store the first time, since I had already paid for it. When she couldn't find it, she asked me twice if I had taken it, and I said no, it had been left at the store. She said it had been thrown away because I said it hadn't been printed right and a note was made that I was going to return to have it re-printed properly (?!). This lady then told me they could easily re-print the book for me, but only the original order I had submitted online since that is what I paid for in the first place. I asked why they couldn't just print the document from the memory stick the way I wanted, if they had to re-print it anyway, since they were the ones that destroyed the original document, which I had already paid for but did not pick up??? If they were going to print something anyway, why not print it right?? The lady was quite red in the face and glaring through this whole ordeal. She offered no apologies for the promises that had been made, and quite stubbornly insisted I cough up additional money after I was told I wouldn't have to. She was not even considerate but spoke to me rudely. She told the first girl I had spoken to, to go ahead and do the order but "make sure the number of pages are the same" before she stormed off, again without any apology. The first lady printed the document from the memory stick, but taking the lead of manager, her mannerism had also turned abrupt and curt. I happen to publish a book for my students every year and open up the option to buy additional copies to the parents of my students, and I have about twenty. So this Staples has lost a lot of business from me personally and from my school, who would be doing quite a lot of ordering books to print every year. I will not be coming back. I hope the regional manager would be kind enough to read this and rectify the situation with at least a formal apology for the behaviour of their staff at the Grande Prairie branch!

We placed an order for a box of paper & photo copy ink on Feb 26/17, We received our ink on the 28th so I called to find out where our paper was that we had been charged for they told me that it had been returned and they would send out a new box right away. I made sure that I told them we have been charged already, so I check our credit card to find that we had been charged again, I called them to have them tell me that this was just a hold so that the new box could be sent and for all our troubles that would give us a twenty dollar credit. Well here it is March 6/17 and we still do not have our paper and our credit card has been charged an additional $53.51 for a box of paper we have paid for, by the way there is no $20.00 credit to our card. My advise do not shop on line. I will go to the store today to see if they can help. Wait for follow-up on my visit. By the way I also sent them photo copies of our actual bill received as well as our credit card showing the second charge.
