If you haven't been to the Stampede yet, you definitely need to go! It's super fun with lots of great activities. There's plenty of walking, so you'll get a lot of sun. You can see many great shows for free, like motorcycle stunts and live music concerts. Every year, they introduce new and unusual food items like burger ice cream or watermelon burgers. You'll also find delicious favorites like super long fries and the big onion.nnThe Stampede happens every year, but it seems the area directors or supervisors are not doing a great job with their employees. The staff seem unorganized and disoriented. They work long hours in the sun, which might contribute to their lack of care. There are only one or two people handling the rides, while around ten people are just standing around in guest services. The supervisors look exhausted, like they might fall asleep.nnI appreciate the presence of cops and security walking around, and there's a security checkpoint before you enter. However, some people wait until you leave and then ask if they can cut your fast pass or ride pass from your hand to glue it onto their wrist.nnI mean, I guess they learn every year how to do better for the next
Had a great time at the Calgary Stampede. Was my first time here and had an amazing time! Parked near signal hill and got a free shuttle down to the grounds. So much to do and see. Highly recommend going on a value day as it saved us some money. Went to the rodeo and that was 100% worth the trip. Stayed for the evening show which is a separate ticket from the rodeo. Everything was very accessible to every age. Also loved the BMO centre with cool vendors and some beautiful art displays. Stopped for a drink at Nashville North. Nice little day getaway from the crowds and enjoy a cold beer. I’m sure it gets very packed in there for the bands but didn’t stay that long. So many different types of food here. Definitely try some of the fun new vendors. Did not try the cheeseburger ice cream. lol maybe next time. Worth the trip. Don’t forget to wear your cowboy boots and hats. So many yahoo signs to celebrate the fun stampede vibes.
Best place to catch fun with the kids during stampede days in Calgary. Lots of fun activities. Beware not to go during family day as the lines to each ride could be too long. Going to the stampede with kids during week days is much better than on weekends.
I was here during off-season right before a concert but had fun with the horse statues.
Expensive. Too crowded. Concerts we're ok. Saw Motley Crue. Grounds care for kids mostly. Fun for tourists.
