St. Paul’s Hospital is one of famous hospitals in Canada as well as the world. It is located in beautiful downtown Vancouver and has many specialized world-class programs such as Heart & Lung, Cardiac, and Acute Care…… takes care over couple hundreds thousands patients every year in West of Canada! It is affiliated with UBC Faculty of Medicine with many well-known physicians, and a globally renowned teaching and research centre! Looking forward to seeing its new St. Paul’s Hospital at Jim Pattison Medical Campus!
The staff were amazingly friendly, very cordial and empathetic. I was admitted to the emergency room in critical condition this month. I suspected blood clots in the lung due to a covid infection. I could not breathe or move, and they saved my life after I felt death. The hospital was immaculate, and the medical staff were very kind. Thank you for everything
The nurses, doctors and staff deserve a rating of more than 5 stars. You are in the hospital because you are not well. They are dealing with drug over doses, the virus and regular patients. They are patient and understanding and try to comfort you mentally as well as physically. Even the porters are of good spirits as they wheel patients for scans and x-rays. We are fortunate in BC to have the excellent health care workers that we have. Thanks, my life depends on you.
I was visiting from out of province when I had to go to ER and be admitted for a couple days here due to an urgent matter, which was a very unideal situation and quite scary at times. However I can't say enough good things about all the great people who work at this hospital. My concerns were taken seriously and all the doctors, residents, and nurses were so knowledgable about my condition and made me feel confident and assured I was in good hands. They left no stone unturned with diagnostic tests and always made sure I was comfortable and in as little pain as possible. I was treated with a great measure of kindness, empathy, and dignity during my time there which made the whole ordeal a lot more bearable. An unfortunate experience for sure to have a medical emergency and be hospitalized while on vacation, but the kind care I received at this hospital is something I'll never forget
Most bizarre experience with the staff there at the emergency. Took my kid there and the registration nurse was rude. The basic triaging equipment is so outdated that to take the temperature they had to put the thermometer in the mouth of a puking kid. At least after COVID they should have upgraded. Their system is not up to date. We went there from Richmond emergency seeing that the wait times there at that time was just 50 minutes. Looks like they don't even care to update their dashboard. Never ever going there until it's the only choice I have.
I had MRI at ST. Paul's hospital Yesterday and it was my first time going there. The nurses and people working in radiology had such great attitudes I have ever seen in my last years experience going to any hospital. They are really helpfull and made me feel really comfortable and relax around them. Thanks
My 85 year old father had a horrific experience at Mission and Abbotsford hospitals. He was sent home both times with no diagnosis or treatment plan. The third time he was at my place so he was taken to St Paul’s. They are amazing. ALL the doctors and nurses are competent, kind and caring. They listen to you, they care about the patient and are interested in healing people. I would give more stars if I could. We were scared and unsure, and at St Paul’s I feel confident they are doing everything they can for my father.
As a visitor- hospital was very confusing to navigate from the parkade area. Also, this is one of the only hospitals i have been in this year that still asks for proof of covid vaccination for visitors. Thankfully I still had my old card on me. On the cardiac short stay unit, the nurses taking care of my father in law were very kind. Area was clean, and patients were well taken care of.
I stayed over a week. First nurse was awesome name started with a g - male. One of the last nurse’s was a bit insane - she asked me personal and pointed questions obviously read my ‘chart’ online. I wish I would have have verbally hit back at the time, but was caught off guard. The doctors were great - so many doctors!
Let me put it this way. You know when you feel too much pain, and worried about your life, but dont mind going despite being a bit far from where you live, just to feel how compassionate nurses should be, how professional and supportive doctors are, and how helpful the staff are, and feel looked after and safe? This is one of these blessed hospital with its angel like staff......we need more people like you !
