Our mission at St George is to make Jesus Christ known.
Located on the bank of the Speed River is the site of the third St. George’s Church. The original St. George’s Church Guelph, a wooden structure was located at Guelph city Centre, St. George’s Square, on land set aside for a church by Sir John Galt. It was the second church built in Guelph after Norfolk Street United Church. The original wood structure was completed in 1834 and renovated to stone and added onto in the 1850’s. This Stone Church at St. George’s Square served as the church for the next 20 years. The Church at the present site was completed in 1873.
