About

Let the Garden inspire your Life.

Story

No dogs allowed in the Park.

Stretched along the meandering banks of the Sturgeon River in the City of St Albert lies a public garden in progress. Entirely designed, planted, and maintained by residents in the community, the St Albert Botanic Park is an example of the power and determination of volunteers.

The garden is located at 265 Sturgeon Road, one kilometer east of Boudreau Road. It is surrounded by the Red Willow Park and riverside trail system that winds through the City.

Visit our Gift Shop which offers garden-inspired treasures - giftware, tableware, metal work, handmade jewelry, and home and garden decor.

Come see why some 15 000 to 20 000 visitors visited St Albert Botanic Park last year.

This is my fiancé and I's favorite date spot to come on a Sunday afternoon. When it's warm enough, we probably come every two weeks just to walk around and take pictures. The flowers are constantly changing and growing, so it never gets boring. We stumbled upon it a few years ago when we wanted a date that didn't cost anything and this was the PERFECT place to come. Every part of these gardens is always well-maintained and the flowers are gorgeous! It's family friendly and there's beautiful paths to walk on. There are different sections through the garden that contain flowers or trees. It is so peaceful. We have recommended this botanical garden to many friends and family and they have all loved it! And an added bonus is that you can walk a bit further and stroll down tona path that leads along the river. I would highly recommend this to anyone! And if you enjoy taking photos, it's the perfect place! I'm so looking forward to the weather warming up again so I can start going back.

It has limited parking. Only holds up to maybe 30 cars. The room for rent is good for small groups of people. Not more than 40. Nice scenery.

I was unaware of this beautiful location until I attended my grandson's wedding. Cannot believe all the upkeep and work is done by volunteers. The wedding was after a regular work party so had the opportunity to visit with many volunteers. Such nice people and a wonderful place for my grandson to begin his adventure as a married man.

Always love coming here in the summer. It's such a nice, calm, refreshing location... Perfect for a cheap date, since it's absolutely free! The grounds are painstakingly and beautifully maintained, and as the flowers start to bloom it turns into one of my favorite places in the city. Definitely recommend!
