Seems like a nice facility with friendly staff that helped me with directions, but the indoor play space desperately needs a thorough cleaning. The space itself was great with a good variety of soft play items, perfect for a toddler to explore, but I wouldn’t go again without a pack of Lysol wipes.
Reasonable price to entry. Change rooms are on the smaller side, along with communal showers. There electronic lockers but you can always bring your own lock. Does have a clothing wringer, to dry everything after you are done.nAs for the actual pool. Decent temperature, water wise. Large area for shallow and kids area. Falls down deep with plenty of room. There is a whole other cold pool for lane swimmers away from everyone else. Large hot tub, which could use more water. Has both wet and dry sauna.nBest choice in St Albert
It’s a good place but the only thing I don’t like is the changing room you have to wait over 15 minutes to change your kid or even after he’s done swimming, still have to wait 15 minutes. It’s always busy and no respect to anyone. And some people use the handicap stalls when they aren’t supposed to.
This was our first time visiting Fountain Park Pool, and unfortunately, it will also be our last. What should have been a fun outing with our baby and toddler turned into over an hour of stress and frustration due to a locker malfunction.nnOur locker jammed with all our belongings inside, including diapers, snacks, and our wallet. Staff tried to help but couldn’t get it open. Meanwhile, our 1-year-old needed a diaper change. When we asked for a diaper, we were told my wife could walk out of the change room to the dry, non-pool side and purchase one at the front desk, despite her being in a bikini, with no method of payment.nnThis was a facility issue, not our fault, and the bare minimum would have been to offer a diaper without hesitation. We had to push back before they finally provided one.nnWe were then told someone would arrive in 20 minutes to open the locker. That quickly turned into “5 more minutes”… again and again. It dragged on for almost an hour while our baby and toddler became tired, hungry, and anxious. By the time we could get our stuff, we ended up missing an appointment and begun going into our baby’s nap time. We truly felt trapped.nnEventually, they offered a free pass, but we declined and asked for a refund, which they did process.nnA family-friendly facility should be far better prepared to handle these situations with empathy and basic common sense. We won’t be going back.
I had such a great time learning to swim this summer in the adult 1 class with Mason F., the Instructor. He is patient, kind, and funny. Thank you so much for your lessons.nI'm looking forward to starting the next level! I definitely enjoyed coming to the Fountain Park recreation center. It was more than I expected. Sometimes, it can be a bit packed, but I still had a lot of fun there.
