Sparse options and disappointing quality. I went a little after noon on a Tuesday and arrived to mostly empty shelves. I selected slice of carrot cake and a cream horn. The cake was very moist and the icing was okay but overall it was in line with prepackaged carrot cake squares. The cream horn was so dry I couldn't finish it. The cream and pastry were not at all fresh.
A Great healthy sourdough bread we enjoyed for years with our family and friends
Great bread and buns. Treats are scrumptious too. Prices are quite reasonable. Selection can be minimal depending on what is made fresh.
Fresh bread was delicious, but expensive for a small loaf! I also purchased 2 pastries! I surprised my Son who works nearbywith a treat...his comment wasn't that great! I purchased a chocolate coating triangle which the sign said "full of nuts" Upon calling them because of my disappointment of it being coconut and no nuts to be found I was told, in quite a rude manner that ground nuts were used! One type of ground nuts maybe and coconut do NOT make full of nuts! So end result, pastries were quite expensive and I rate them with a B-...certainly NOT an A+ like I had found when living in Germany!
Little out of the way bakery with fantastic bread and pretzels. You have to get there early if you want pretzels. They are usually sold out by 10AM. The sweets are traditional German / Austrian. Very addictive! They are a traditional style bakery without the refined ingredients often found in today's desserts. A great place to buy baked goods.
Always the most delicious rye bread with caraway, that I ve ever tasted. Made with no chemicals or preservatives. And the nicest people !! The only place to buy authentic german bread! Also a very nice assortment of pastries and squares, for the sweet tooth in all of us: Thanks for such great bread! Christine
This is the best place for fresh tasty bread made with zero chemicals or preservatives. The owner is meticulous with the making of the bread and takes great pride in the quality. We actually stopped buying bread here when the original owner sold, but thankfully the newest owner has brought it full circle and Sproll’s has returned to its roots. Highly recommend the medium rye or caraway, wonderful bread!
This place makes and sells authentic German bread. If you are rye bread lover this is your place to go. Try rye buns, malt buns or pretzels in addition to pastry, everything is good and authentic to what I remember as the good ol' German bakeries had to offer back in the 90s. The guy who owns the store is German Master Baker and he is really good at what he does.
Haven't had anything bad from here. The pretzel buns and both the apple and cherry struble are delicious. If you don't have a gluten allergy go here, it's worth it.
