Love this place!! The location is perfect. I just discovered that they have a meditation garden, so cool!! I love peering into the ponds and finding some friends. For the first time we saw frogs that were still kinda in the tadpole phase!! We also saw 4 turtles .
Beautiful trails throughout the park. Ideal for anyone to walk or bike through. Most are off-road, but provide you with stunning views of the woods and marshy areas.
It's a quiet and peaceful place right in my backyard with a lot of trials to walk. We like walking across the pond on the semi floating bridge . My family enjoyed this place very much. I reccomend it to anyone who wants to introduce their kids to natures.
I'm disappointed in myself for not checking this place out sooner for a few reasons: 1. It's free 2. It's close to home 3. It's nature and exploration based learning 4. Having an indoor and outdoor area makes it accessible no matter what the weather is 5. Did I mention that it's free? There's a wonderful indoor exploration space AND outdoor one! We visited during the day on a Thursday and only saw couple other families during the time we were there. We will be back, time and time again. We're already visiting for the second time, and our first visit was this morning. The boys 5yo & 6yo absolutely love it here! Can't wait to check out the hiking trails once it warms up. Playground: A wonderful outdoor play space for kids to explore. Can't wait to come back in the summer!
Love this FREE place!! We’ve only been here in the winter, so I can’t say anything about outside but I have heard AMAZING things. The inside is great too! I easily spent 2 hours here with my almost 3 year old. There’s some turtles and snakes, a light pattern wall, big windows to look at the bird feeders, some books, and then two or three little toy activity tables. A few other things to look at inside. They also have rooms you can host parties in, we went to an awesome birthday party here.. Good clean bathrooms and vending machines too.
Great low key trail with many floating walkways and views and water in a lot of places. One of the best floating walkways with views in the burbs!
We did the evening Latern Walk event with snowshoes and it was a lot of fun. The weather was great and the trails were pretty perfect for snowshoeing. There was a bonfire going to warm up in the middle of the walk.
I love this place. the trails are nicely groomed and there are a lot of opportunities to see the wildlife. the kids love searching for turtles and when the trains go by. we like taking an hour or two to walk around and burn off some energy.
Great place to relax, walk trails, see animals, and so much more!! I never come here without my camera in hand because you just never know what critters you will come across. It may be the same trails you walk every time you come here, but it will always be a new adventure. It's been a favorite place for me and my family for many years!!
A lot of fun to be had for the winterfest. There was not a ton of parking, and there was an opportunity for staff to help direct traffic for the overflow parking. But lots of activities inside for the kids of all ages. Loved the animals to look at as well as all the outdoor activities. Will definitely be back in the warmer months to check out the walking trails.
