What a fantastic place to experience Buckhorn! This park is well maintained, extremely clean, with each and every RV site displaying pride of ownership. Beth and Roy are wonderful hosts that extended a very warm family welcome for the week. Our site was waterfront with access to lake swims, docks and the park. Also fully equipped with water and sewer. We have already booked again fir next year...why look elsewhere. Our kids are already excited to return. Ignore any negative reviews....just nonsense from unpleaseable picky people. 10
This park is lovely, right on the bay and the sunsets are amazing! The owners were very nice and responsive to our needs but the seasonal patrons were very unfriendly. At the site right by the playground we didn’t mind the children playing it was the large group of teenagers late into the evening spouting foul language and being VERY noisy that was the ruin of what could have been a very peaceful weekend! While the owners stepped in and took care of it the other campers became aggressive and rude to us. We felt very unsafe. Sad situation for sure!
This is very relaxing spot to camp. The water is very close to all the sites. The 7 sites are situated in the middle of the trailer park. The water front is on the east side of Deer Bay on Lower Buckhorn lake, due to this the sunsets are absolutely beautiful as you will see in my attached pictures. We have been 3 years in a row now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is an amazing spot for kids because there is a play ground and a medium size field to play at. Also if you have a boat it is really convenient as the docks are along the front of the camp ground.
Our family of 21 visits spring rock every summer. Roy and Beth have been nothing short of amazing with us and treat us like family. We thoroughly enjoy coming here every year. The campsites on the lake are gorgeous.
The girls loved it, however, Dad had to work during the day. Weather was great! Hard part was the long walk uphill to the car in the morning when the bathroom was within the same area. Yes, unfortunately, no bathroom close by. With a lung condition, it wasn't the best, but everything else was nice. It would have been easier to be able to drive there, but the limit was one veichel per campsite.
If you want a feeling of the Kawarthas then this is it. What a wonderful place. It’s mostly seasonal with a few transient spaces, with these transient spaces having amazing views! The sunsets are unparalleled and the seasonal residents were so friendly to those of us who were just staying a short time. Both my daughters had so much fun and everyone was so accommodating, showing them how to fish and letting them help out. If you’re a cyclist there are some great routes on the back roads so you don’t have to brave the traffic of Hwy 28. If you paddle, the mornings and evenings are so calm. There’s lots of chances to fish off the breaker too. There’s sand in the playground and a shallow limestone walk-in to the water. Bring water shoes. Some of the rocks are slippery and some can be sharp. There’s even an off-leash area just off the property and swimming for your pooches at the boat launch. No need for AC. Just keep your windows open and let the breeze off the lake keep the trailer cool. We’ve fallen in love with this place and hope we can get a chance to visit next summer again.
This is an amazing spot. The campsites are very close to the waterfront. The full time residents are very friendly making you feel right at home. I would recommend this to anyone.
Family has been camping here for the better part of 15 years. The owners run a tight ship, which is what makes this place a real winner. There is literally no other campground as well kept, and interesting as this one in the area.
Beautiful campground, friendly owners who care about your experience, highly recommend a stay here.
A very clean, well run family resort. Lots of daily entertainment and friendly seasonal campers. 11 pm curfew means you can wind down at the end of the night without a party going on beside you. We appreciated being able to sit fireside until midnight without unwanted music being blasted from adjacent sites which we have experienced in a few other parks we have visited. We are a family of 5 transient campers who enjoy exploring different parks. This is the 1st one that has given us pause to consider a permanent park. The best review comes from our 5 year old who cried the whole way home because he missed all the fun and friends he meet in our 3 days of camping.
