Sport Chek Red Deer

I bought a used snowboard for my 6 year old son, which was in okay shape, but it needs a few things like bindings for his boot size, and the bottom side is scratched up pretty bad. I only bought it as my son will be just starting out and there’s no sense spending $500 total to get him into the sport to start off with. I talked to one of the sales guys about making a list of what I needed to make this work for him, and he was great to show me what I needed and what to look out for. I then went to the service shop, and talked to the young guys at the counter, who were totally understanding about the situation and were super cool about offering to run the board through their sanding machine, clean up the edges on the board, and basically tune it up for him and get it back to usable shape. Many companies I know would basically tell me there’s no sense messing around with an old board, and just try to up sell me on a new one. These guys were totally willing to help me out even though I bought the board used elsewhere. I will be returning. You guys rock!!

Nice store with nice variety and inventory. Enough checkouts open to serve. Staff is quite young but eager to help. Fittingrooms have a nice layout. Unfortunately I ended up with the newest staff member and wanted to buy a bikini without a upc code and gave to headache to find a price for as it was the last one in stock. The sales rep stayed calm, the managers helped & showed her options and it was solved. Everyone was happy.

Considering the size of Red Deer and the size of the store you would think they would have a better selection for sports besides hockey and athletic wear. Their basketball shoe & sock selection is sad, as well as many other sports that are lacking representation. No wonder people shop online or drive to the bigger cities. Never anyone on the floor to ask for help and many of the cashiers are less then friendly!!

This store is always neat and well stocked. The staff are not pushy but are always close by if you need assistance. I have never had a bad shopping experience at this location
