Our original plan was to visit the Micro Brewery next door to this pub first but it is closed on Monday's. So we headed into the Spitfire Arms and had a few drinks before ordering food. They have a beer made exclusively for them by another brewery in the area see picture and I found it to be exceptional. If you ask they have cans at the bar you can buy for take away. Glad I did this as we did visit the Brewery the next day and they don't even have this available at their location. We ordered the Fries as a starter see picture, they season each one with a different spice and paired with a sauce. It's a great item to order if you just want something small or are looking for something to snack on before ordering the main course. Supper was very good. I ordered the Curry which came with your choice of 3 different curries with rice and naan bread. The beer selection includes a variety of local breweries including some from the location next door. The waitress was very attentive and always followed up with us on a regular basis even though we were there for around 3 hours. On a Monday it's one of the few sit down restaurant options that is open, our plan was to go here in any case but you won't be disappointed if you choose to come here.
First stop for some great ale and poutine. Scallops excellent. Chef was willing to serve without creme sauce. Great server/manager.
My partner, best friend and I went here for a bit to eat not expecting the amazing service or the great food we got. I got in the picture the garlic shrimp, butternut squash linguine and it was both soon good. My partner got their pulled pork burger and garlic bread and he enjoyed it so much. My friend got there fish taco and also enjoyed it as well 10/10. 5 star place will be going again.
We stopped by and loved this pub! Easy access from the highway, great service and good food. We had the steak sandwich and Big Ben burger - both were delicious. The fries were on point and I love the flavours and they complement the meals well. The food was fast and hot, the place was busy and had great atmosphere and the alley is so quaint with the lights! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly.
Extensive and flavourful menu. Fairly reasonable prices and good size portions. First time steak and guinness pie, next time had shrimp and linguini pasta. Well crafted and tasty.
This was our first time here! I don’t know why we haven’t tried them before. Our sever was very patient while we tried to figure out our pub dinner, after an evening of horse riding! I ordered the Reuben, my sister ordered the chicken parm sandwich and my friend has the pulled pork. Your sides is an additional cost, and they have a variety of choices. It was just what we needed to warm our bellies. Great service and the food was a exactly what the menu described. They also had a prime rib dinner special, which I hope I can go back and get one day. It’s a neighborhood hangout, that was cozy, welcoming and just what we needed on a cold winter night. Thanks for a great experience Spitfire ale house!
Always have a great time here, the staff is absolutely wonderful and you can tell they are a great team! They make you feel like you are a part of their family. I would have given 5 stars but in the winter months half of the bar is too cold to sit in. It’s really a shame because when the weather is foul this place really shines as a cozy second home. If there was an air curtain installed in front of the door the whole place would be as cozy as it looks all the time.
A group of us decided to see if we could get in for a quick dinner on our way back to the city from a day in the Valley. We were seated quickly at a table within the covered alleyway which is a great space. First thing we noticed - sides are no longer included with most mains on the menu. Ok... good to keep in mind while ordering. Food came and looked good but was only ok. Big Ben Burger came as a pre-packaged, previously frozen patty which was underwhelming considering it was a $10 burger. The $5 handful of fries were tasteless and limp while the $7.50 side of parmesan fries my friends ordered was literally three times the amount of fries in a bowl which we found funny. Vegetables with the mains were perfectly steamed. Fish was tiny but good - worth getting the second piece otherwise you will leave hungry. The steak was ordered to be medium but was cooked well beyond that but friend figured it wasn't worth the hassle to send it back. The food filled the void but was not a great dining experience.
First time at SpitFire upon a recommendation from a friend. Very friendly staff and the food was spectacular! My husband, son & I loved our meals. I had the steak & guinness pie & I highly recommend. Will definitely to back :
Over priced. Ordered a quesadilla and imagined it was going to be chicken. Nope it’s 12$ for a cheese quesadilla and 4$ extra for meat then on top of that 5$ more for a side of fries . 21$ dish and there was barely even any chicken on the quesadilla. Super over priced for portion size. Been a problem since Covid. I won’t be back
