Spirit Lake Wilderness Resort

Spirit Lake offers RV sites, cabin and motel accommodation, off-sales and they have a great restaurant attached. Restaurant has great food, with a number of solid breakfast offerings and an eclectic lunch and dinner menu. Pretty well every thing you need, in a gorgeous natural setting not far from Whitehorse. Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the plumbing fixtures were a little temperamental -- warm water pressure wasn't what it could be, and the shower was a little slow to drain. That said, the pricing was very reasonable and the folks that ran the place were genuinely nice, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

Waited more than an hour for mediocre food. Server was extremely kind, but food was not worth the wait. Was told there was only one cook -- I get that the place is remote, but perhaps more staff would be helpful? Again, great service. Would not have minded food if it arrived in a timely manner.

I am a local from Carcross & don't get out much, dropping $87 this time was ok, but some ugly issues with overcooked fish (Halibut) & chips, my all day omelette was palatable, sausage was loosing thier casings & tasted like a fridge, my daughters grilled cheese was not caramelized enough with just butter soaked bread. Even the wife was not happy with her orders too. While there, I even bought a $55 Knife. I feel the cook should stick to prepating the faster food, that is harder to mess up..s They are Extremely nice people, but the short order cook could use some grill classes & food safety. Thanks.

the room was nice & clean snd the breakfast was great! got a pad thai, even though its not on the breakfast menu and it was simply delicious! just like in thailand :)
