Foods are not tasty. The lamb biryani is below average, the chicken malai Kabab is salty and has the smell of raw spices, the butter nan is average which served after 10 minutes of the Kabab. I will not recommend others to go if you want to taste real Asian cuisine. In terms of price, the foods were not value for money
Had the butter chicken special. The butter chicken was average, but the Chana Masala was great. Very generous serving sizes. Nice restaurant.Food: 4/5
I love Indian food and I do find Spicy Bite to offer a very reliable, well presented, and flavourful menu/buffet. I randomly went here with a friend at approx. 7:45 pm on a stat holiday Thanksgiving. The venue at this time quiet and the buffet was about to be taken down for the night but the employees were accommodating to us. My friend and I were extremely satisfied with the food we had for the supper price. Approx. $20
We visited today and we quickly realized that we might get food poisoning, the lunch buffet - chicken tundori was not fresh and not properly cooked and cold, one type of plain rice /cold, vegetable salad was just mixed with with of spice and call it a dish, the chickpeas dish was tough cold and hard to the bite, the other meat dish was tough to the bite/not properly cooked and cold, not many options, only grapes I remember as fruit and was and that was couple of grapes out there scattered, the sweets they had something like kheer … I was very disappointed shocked to what they have even tried to make, this is so easy dish and u guys supposed to do at least good on that one, I took a sip not a bite it was like you have bunch of hard rice and mixes with milk and some flavours … please close this place. Do better. I told my friend “If you ask me to come and eat here for free, I would not do that”. I went home and feared to get aick, although I didnt finish anything I picked up to eat.
Decided to visit this place again with my friends after 1 year ... WORST decision ever. First of all place looked very unsanitary. We ordered samosa chaat, like the many times before we ordered the chaat it has chickpea and gravy, salad, 2 sauces and samosas usually its very good. This time the chaat looked unedible and there was watery material at the bottom of our plate which was definitely not gravy from the chickpeas, it looked as if they microwaved frozen chickpeas and dumped them on our plate, further more there was no salad on it or the sweet sauce. We asked them if we could fix the chaat for us and instead of making a new one they used the samosas from our last chaat and put it in a new plate.... Then when the rest of our food arrived. The chicken from chicken Tikka Masala tasted like rubber no way did it look or taste like chicken. Furthermore I found hair in mine i thought it might been mine so i ignored it at first but then my friend also found hair in hers and that was the last line. We barely touched our food. We told the server and he acted out in a rude manner. He told us he will take off only 25% even though we barely ate and also told us that if you "wanted" a new chaat you should've asked for it when we did.... We paid 50% $23 and left. My friend felt nauseous and we all had a stomach ache last night. Not sure if owners have changed or chef but the quality of the restaurant has dropped from 4 to 0 for us. It used to be one of the good pakistani/indian resturants in saskatoon but now its just horrible and I would avoid it.
Foods are warm when serve but it gets cold really fast. Looks like they just microwave it. Salad and grapes are old and I can tell none of them are fresh, they just put it all together and warm it up. It’s their promo, less than $20 you’ll get rice, salad, grapes, buttered chicken, samosa ,naan and the peas.
I ordered a chicken tikka masala and they took 30 minutes to prepare it, I had my hopes up hoping the food would be worth it but it wasn’t, I ordered medium hot and they instead gave me extra hot which was not what I ordered the chicken tikka masala just tasted blend and had overdone it with a lot of spices which didn’t taste good at all.
I'm baffled as to how this place managed to get a 3.8 star rating, the food is not good! I came here with my husband, and honestly, if I had ate anything earlier that day/wasn't so hungry, I wouldn't have ate anything. Everything was really greasy and just off. I'm not sure if it was because they used frozen or canned vegetables, or maybe they freeze and reheat the meals? It didn't taste fresh anyway. The naan looked exactly like it came out of a grocery store bag and tasted like it too!. They insisted they make it fresh.....I've had fresh naan at a number of Indian restaurants and that is NOT fresh or homemade naan! If you think this place is good, try Spice Trail in PA and you'll find out what good Indian food is like! :D
Nice place for big group of people. Very clean and well decorated. Like their food but the only thing didn’t like is their nun bread. It is not like nun you can get other place. It is more like paratha. Employees are very friendly and service was excellent.
Great buffet at a fantastic price with amazing, friendly service. The name is accurate. A good amount of heat in most of the dishes. Nice dessert spread too
