I come from sterling and order here occasionally usually I get the beef roll which is usually pretty good and my husband likes the gyro with extra meat...today however I ordered an Italian beef w/cheese and he ordered his usual...mine was ok, couldn't tell there was cheese too bad. However the gyro had no cucumber sauce making it quite dry and barely enough vegetables to cover a 1/4 of it and very well done fries. Sorry to say but today wasn't a win for us. Hopefully next time is.
Went there at 1145am to get lunch and nobody was there. Sign said they should be open. Went there one other time and paid $15.00 for a beef sandwich and fries. I would've been better off going somewhere else. The beef was tough and like the Wendy's commercial said " where's the beef ".
Ok so I’m in town for work and somebody recommended this place randomly. Listen... I stopped in for a dog for lunch and decided to have dinner there too, and I blew it out. This stuff is delicious. Great fries and their Italian beef deep dish is wow.
This place is great, I would’ve gave it five stars. But I have an incredibly hard time calling and getting through to a person to place an order. Recommendation is get another phone line.
To go beef place with great pulled pork. Combo Italian sausage and Polish was typical for a “Vienna beef” place. Friendly and quick 5 minutes and out the door. Clearly a Chicago themed establishment with Bears photos and signs. Had pizza by the slice ready to go in a warmer but didn’t see any takers. Thin to medium thick crust. Very limited counter seating for 8.
Pulled pork was tasty, fries were crunchy, and the coleslaw was lighter than most I’ve had before. Service was quick too. Overall delicious and will come back when in the area!
You never think those little hut would have the best food in Dixon! They have gyros they have beef sandwiches everything that I've had off their menu is tasty lots of flavor! They've changed their gyro sauce over the years and now it's much better.
Take your food to the river front and enjoy a nice summer evening or take it home. It's all good food I particularly like the Gyros!Food: 5/5
I saw a post from Sow Belly's on Facebook. It was advertising the Chicago Box. My husband, kids and I headed out for an hour long drive and it was so worth it! I spoke with the owner and he was so delightful and a fellow Chicago native. I wish it was more aesthetically pleasing, there was a lot of boxes in the window. My husband was instantly turned off. I would definitely go back.
Use to live in the area we try an stop every time we are up this way since we never seem to make it to Chicago this last time I was disappointed my hotdogs bun was so hard an falling apart it was not what I was use to getting when I stop in there that's for sure. We usually stop on Sundays maybe we will try a different day this time. We really do love the food usually
