Southern Alberta Pioneers Memorial Building

We had our wedding at the Pioneers building! It was incredibly magical. Gabrielle is amazing and helped make our day so special. What a hidden gem of a venue.

We had my dad’s celebration of life at the Southern Alberta Pioneers Building. It was a perfect space. We wanted a rustic, historic feel with beautiful outdoor and indoor space and this venue ticked all the boxes. The autumn weather was perfect. We even had a couple of osprey circling around during the ceremony. Gabrielle was very accommodating and answered all of our questions leading up to the event. I’m so grateful that such a lovely venue exists in the heart of Calgary.

Stunning atmosphere inside and out for our wedding! We seated about 70 people for a buffet dinner and it was a tight fit... 50 people would have had more elbow room. Communication was slow *until* the moment our wedding was done, then we got bombarded with messages about getting cleaned up and locking the doors.

I had the privilege and honor to have my wedding at this establish in August 2019. Southern Alberta Pioneers Memorial Building is Calgary hidden gem and I truly mean gem. I am third generation Calgarian and none of my family or I knew that this placed existed. The beauty of this building and its surrounding garden space will take anyone's breath away. All day all of our guest had came up to us and had to express how they were all blown away, and how incredible the venue was. We saw many of guest just take a moment with their loved ones to sit on one of the many benches and reflect with their loved ones. Just by seeing them sit there they were at true bliss, calm, relaxed.... just gazing at the view from the mountains in the background to the elbow river just right below a moment of true reflection and then they got up and walked away with a huge smile on their face. I can not thank Gabriella and her team enough. They are amazing, so easy to work with and so calming! Gabriella made everything so easy for us, and is extremely accommodating. If you are looking for a "wow" venue this is the place to go!

The Southern Alberta Pioneers & their Descendants is a great organization. Preserving the history and stories of our Southern Alberta ancestors.The Memorial Hall is a very spcial place and is often open for visitors and rentals. Cowtown is a great City with lots of future potential. Living in the Foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains is super special. We welcome everyone here. DMack.

We were lucky enough to be able to have our wedding reception here in August 2021. The building is nice, the lawn and view is gorgeous, but the events coordinator Gabrielle was by far the best part of our experience. She was very accommodating, had lots of helpful advice, and really made our experience the great one that it was. Can’t recommend her and this venue enough!

This venue is a hidden gem in the heart of Calgary, overlooking the Elbow river. My husband and I got married here in Aug. 2021. The grounds are spacious and the building is full of rustic charm. We really enjoyed working with Gabrielle, the venue coordinator - she was very hardworking, organized, funny and kind. Would recommend!

We were lucky enough to work with Gabrielle, the venue coordinator to rent this space for our wedding. We held an outdoor ceremony during golden hour with the most amazing views of Calgary’s elbow river valley and inner city neighbouring communities. The event was magical and heightened with the beautiful flowerbeds, which are grown and maintained by Gabrielle herself. With tons of space for stunning photo opportunities, the venue also offers an incredibly useable and beautiful indoor space with no decor needed to amplify the rustic indoor experience. We held our dance indoors and the bar was on the spacious balcony outside. There is ample parking for guests and it’s one of the most romantic and historical viewpoints that yyc has to offer. Pricing is amazing, service is amazing, building maintenance and aesthetic is perfect, and the location is all that you could ask for. 10/10 would recommend.
