Avitus Wine Bar

I was absolutely thrilled with my visit to this French wine restaurant in Calgary! The waiters spoke with a charming French accent, creating a captivating atmosphere. The first thing I noticed was their incredible wine list. They had a wide selection of wines, and the sommelier was highly knowledgeable and happily assisted in choosing a wine that perfectly suited my taste preferences. Each sip was a true delight, and the combination of wine with the appetizers was simply magical. The appetizers themselves deserve immense praise. The flavors were exquisite and left my taste buds in awe. The service at this restaurant was top-notch. The waiters were attentive and professional, always ready to fulfill any request. They regularly provided small presents as additional treats, which pleasantly surprised and enhanced my gastronomic journey. I highly recommend this restaurant with a rating of 10/10!

A fantastic addition to Calgary and probably my new favourite place! A cozy French wine and cheese bar with friendly service. I loved the patio, the ambience, and the rotating wine menu from vineyards that the staff have actually visited. The bread and butter were super fresh, and some of the best cheese I've ever had did not disappoint! The honey truffle was bomb. The wine that we had was okay; I'd want to go back and try different selections next time.

What an amazing experience. I find the 1 star reviews laughable about no children and the price transparency. No children made the experience all the better and the prices are reasonable enough to not worry about the transparency. We asked the servers to recommend things. The wine was perfect and the food was amazing. I think we have just found our new favourite place and the bill was far less than we thought it was going to be. A truly amazing afternoon.

The perfect hidden gem! These French guys are sure to sweep you off your feet with an impeccable wine select and carefully crafted homemade and locally sourced snacks. We stopped in for a glass but the vibe is so cozy! Two bottles later we had our friends come find us here because we didn’t want to leave!

We are ever grateful to Yann, Francois and the good people at AVITUS Wine Bar for the exceptional private event they created for our friends and colleagues from Blackline Safety on the evening of this Spring Equinox. The Kir Royal, selection of wines paired with Ollia's fine savory macarons, the education we received on the wines, along with several anecdotal stories, made the evening indeed a pleasure for all of us. We were very grateful to have the room set up to permit people to circulate and enjoy each other's company and the ambiance was made even more intimate with candle lights and music. Only a few short weeks here in Marda Loop and we can say every experience has been one filled with warmth and careful attention to details. We truly appreciate AVITUS Wine Bar being so close to our home! To your onward success - Cheers!

-nice atmosphere and very unique. Love the selection of wine, -awful service and the waiter to even look at us. It was my friend birthday gift and I didn't mind the extremely high prices but no respect. We waited for over 30 minutes before they took our friend order. It is hard to communicate with staff if you don't speak French we finally got the attention of a different waiter and ordered appetizers. Food arrived 45 minutes later, and they said that they were busy They never apologize or check to see if we like the food or need any more stuff.

Whether enjoying a glass of red wine on a cold winter day or sitting on their patio in the summer Avitus sets a new standard for the Calgary wine bar scene.

The customer service here amazing! Very friendly, inviting, and definitely know what they’re doing. We were checked in on multiple times by almost everyone there, but never to a point where it got annoying. Atmosphere has been so carefully curated, I am amazed everytime I go and how close to being in France it is. Delicious and unique variety of cheese and wine. Love it.
