This is a bright and dreamy spot for brunch, the staff is nice and the food is really good. I had the avocado toast and a bowl of fruit, my pattered ordered the pancakes and she was in love with them. The prices are quite affordable, the menu variety is not to wide but it has enough options. I loved the decoration and the colors of the place, even the bathrooms are super cute. Totally coming back.
Decided to try this place for the first time because of all the online posts and reviews but the overall experience was very disappointing. First we added ourselves to the wait list after we arrived and we’re told the wait is about an hour. We didn’t get a table for roughly an hour and 45 minutes. This is a small place and very busy but that is not an excuse for the super slow service we received. The food was also very mediocre. The pancakes were undercooked and the potatoes were really over cooked. Don’t even get me started on what they call avocado toast. Huge disappointment!!!
Nice little place for brunch. First time eating there and wanted to go to a nice place with friends visiting from out of town. We lucked out and didn't have to wait long 15mins for a table of 6. Unfortunately it was sweltering inside and uncomfortably hot. Wasn't sure if that was normal or the AC was broken. It was a hot day and when we left and went outside to the street, it felt about 10 degrees cooler outside. Anyways, the food was good. Decent portion in my Greek yogurt bowl and peameal eggs benny. Not enough home fries but everything tasted good. Service was good and the restaurant was busy.
Good food and good coffee! I went there on a Sunday morning with a reservation on Yelp. The reservation actually took quite long but it was okay. We were strolling around the neighborhood. It was supposed to be a 5-star review but I decided to do 3-star because it is an open kitchen there. The chef/staff kept banging dishes and pots in the sink which was quite disturbing to customers sitting right close to it. Perhaps sitting at the patioor front door will avoid this problem.
Sophie’s is a lovely place for brunch! I had eggs benny vegetarian which was delicious, the muffin was soft and the salad was fresh! I also had their freshly squeezed orange juice which was not too cold just how I like and very refreshing. It was surely busy and we waited close to 45min to get the table but the iPad to check-in came in handy. We were able to track the number of tables that were before us and they also sent a notification when it was our turn. In the meantime, we wandered around the streets for a bit and it was nice :
Have had food here several times in the past, and have always a liked it. The experience this time was not good. I had ordered French toast and noticed they had mixed fresh strawberries with some old batch . We felt the same with eggs benediction we had ordered .We felt, the potatoes that were served were old and fresh ones mixed. The consistent taste of potatoes was missing.
Very cute decor - enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. I appreciated how staff were on the ball regarding wearing your mask once you left your table, but surprised that they still have paper menus. Lemonades are really tasty and I appreciate how they are made fresh. However, the food was only okay and nothing really stood out.
Food was worth the wait! We each got different plates and everything was delicious. Waited over 1.5 hours for a table, would recommend joining the virtual line on yelp before going. Especially on the weekend!
The breakfast was okay. The turkey sausage was not good at all. The pancakes were good, but nothing to rave about. Not too sweet and a good lemon flavour but pretty dry. The restaurant is also very small so it’s really loud from the fan and the chefs cooking and has a strong smell that sticks to you. The service was good and the food pictures well. Maybe we would’ve had a better experience on the patio on a warm day and if we picked different menu items like the classics.
Fabulous food! The skillet with chorizo, perfectly au gratin was out of this world. My friend ordered the bennies with salmon that are next on my list. They got very good reviews. A special mention to their reservation system with an iPad and texts when your table is ready. It greatly improves the experience. It's never fun to have to stand in front of the door. Instead, we explored the neighborhood. Great service too.
