Story

Basically, a sofra is a square or rectangular shaped KILIM rug.
These colourful and flat tapestry rugs have been woven for thousands of years in and around Turkey and have served multi purpose roles around the house.

They were and still are often used for picnic outings with family and friends, but they’re also currently used in village homes, where people often sit on their floors and enjoy their meals. Of course, today KILIM rugs are more versatile and more typically used as decorative floor coverings and wall hangings.

The word Sofra itself comes from an ancient Arabic word, meaning dinner table, picnic or KILIM. It is also a synonym for generosity and hospitality.

We have eaten here quite a few times since arriving in Canada five years ago, we have not eaten here though for probably a year and to be honest it has really changed.nWe ate at seven ish on Saturday and it was dead, have to see I can see why, although service was great the food portions have dropped in size substantially and the quality is not as it was, I had two skewers one chicken which was ok, the other Lamb, it was overcooked and chewy. Such a shame as I had suggested Sofram as we used to really enjoy it. It's not cheap either, two mains, a beer and a pop and one dessert which was good over $100. We probably will not return
First time visiting this Mediterranean establishment. Food was quick to arrive and they had great tasting kebobs and their Israeli salad was awesome!. The falafel and schnitzel sandwich was yummy.nnService was very friendly. Kamal, our server was on point.nnThanks!.
Not my taste, overall service and portion of the foods are acceptable
I had a poor experience with both the restaurant and the delivery service. Customer service was unhelpful when I tried to address the issue, and the overall quality of service did not meet expectations.nnI ordered 13 individual meals, but instead of packaging them separately as ordered, everything was combined together. This made it difficult to identify each meal and created unnecessary confusion for everyone. For an order of this size, I expected much better attention to detail and care.nnThe entire experience was frustrating, and I hope improvements are made to both the restaurant's food preparation and delivery processes.
Came on a weekend for a late lunch and there was tons of dining space. The lunch plate was huge and delicious. The price was reasonable for the amount, as I could not finish it all! The chicken shawarma came with hummus, hot sauce, coleslaw, salad and I chose roasted potatoes. Credit card was accepted.
