I am very disappointed in the service at this shop.  I've rented from SnowTips twice before, but after my experience this time I will never go back again.  The guy who helped me acted as though I should be honored to rent from their shop, made me feel stupid for asking questions, and gave me a crappy set of boots.  When I was paying he asked which hotel I was booked at and I told him.  Afterward when I was in the hotel there was advertised that this hotel awards guests with 10% off ski/board rentals at SnowTips.  I'd already paid full price, but had yet to pick up my gear.  The next morning when I picked up my gear I asked the guy about it, explained that it made me feel a little unappreciated especially since I'd been asked where I was staying BEFORE I paid.  He didn't apologize (which was all I really wanted, I wasn't expecting to be refunded) and told me dryly that the guy might not have known about the discount.  In my previous experiences at this shop I was treated kindly and that's why I returned.  One bad experience however is enough that I won't be back.  I'll be sure to caution my friends and family against supporting them as well.

We just rented crampons for a quick hike and service was quick and efficient.  Staff gave a demo on how to use the equipment and quickly got us on our way.  Good prices for crampons (7$ until 3pm or 14$ all day). Only gave 4 stars since we didnt stay long and can't comment on ski/snowboard/bike rentals which is the bread and butter of a place like this.

I went in to buy some wax for my snowboard. I know it's a bit off season (June) but I wanted to give them a summer coat. They said they had the specific product I was after but it was boxed away (upstairs). I explain that I wanted to buy a significant quantity not just "shop and look at it" in which case I totally understand that it would be a pain to unpack everything. The guy refused to get the product anyway. Talk about lazy employee....will not come back. I will happily spends the hundred of dollars I usually spend per year on wax elsewhere.
