This cafe was a great find on our trip to East Sooke! The food was phenomenal, compliments to the chef! No extensive menu, just a handful of dishes served up perfectly. The platter of tuna, calamari and salmon spring rolls was absolutely delicious! And what a view! Thank you so much for squeezing us in under the grape vines when we didn't have a reservation .
We ordered green salad, crab meat pasta, pirogies and fried tuna. Everything was delicious and looked stylish!
Excellent food, service, and views : Would highly recommend. Price is very reasonable for quality of food.
The salmon spring rolls did not disappoint! Also had their famous Calamari - delicious.
We just had Thanksgiving dinner at the Smokin tuna. It was so good the turkey was tender the stuffing was really good. They started out with an absolutely amazing appetizer table. Then the turkey dinner, and an amazing dessert table the pastry on the pies was so awesome! We have been there before and had the regular menu,, which is always good. The calamari, the salmon rolls, the tuna is to to die for and the ice cream sandwiches are awesome. I've never had a bad meal there.
Fantastic food and view. We tried all the seafood dishes which were all amazing! The clams and sausage was incredible! Prices were very good considering the quality! Where else can you get a tuna steak for $14?!
Was a bit skeptical, so we didn't order much food. That was a big mistake. We should have ordered much more food. It was awesome.
Tasty and interesting food. Well prepared. Long waits at peak times and serving staff are disorganized. Should develop a better system for table deliveries to prevent so many mistakes and lost time. Kitchen and staff are probably too small for serving this many people. However a good experience if you are in no hurry.
This was a great spot for lunch after a visit to East Sooke Park. You'll see a sign as you're driving to the park, but it looks like a snack bar from the outside and you have to drive through a small RV park to get to it. As the owner said, people tend to have low expectations when they first get there. I know I wouldn't have bothered to stop if I hadn't seen some other reviews first. It was They have paninis and that type of thing, but I can only speak for what we had, which was the salmon spring rolls and the deep fried tuna, both of which were delicious. Everything on the menu was more than what you would expect. Not iced tea and lemonade, but chai spice iced tea and lemonade that the owner squeezed the lemons for himself. Homemade ice cream sandwiches. That type of thing. The location is great too, right on the water with a beautiful view.
My mother and I are visiting Victoria from Ontario and we stumbled across this amazing little cafe by accident. We were blown away by the entire experience from start to finish. The staff we super friendly and the food was just incredible. We are hoping to go again before we head home!
