Tried country style and butter chicken versions. Country style was decent. Good mix of flavors. Butter chicken was really bad. Chicken tatse like something else. It was nowhere near butter chicken flavour. Clean and neat place Good customer service No free parking near the facility
So happy I decided to walk on over to this Poutinerie. I was not disappointed! I believe I had the smallest option available for their poutine, the frites were crispy, the sauce delicious, and the cheese was of good quality. I like how the cheese pieces were in big chunks. If you’re in Toronto and a poutine lover check out this great location !
This is a fast service restaurant. We are not experts in poutine, but ordered three types. They basically all tasted the same... like gravy. It was very hazy inside, like someone had burned something earlier, but since the place is called Smokes, maybe that is the normal atmosphere? There were some mild service issues with our order, confusion that caused us to place a second order. I think maybe Canadian poutine is just not our thing, but if you love it...check it out.
Found this place to be really chill, and for a first-time “poutinie”, lol , I enjoyed my meal. Got a small and it was more than enough to sate my appetite. As an American, I especially enjoyed the take on the cheese curds, as they were a delicious addition to the fries topped with gravy and grilled chicken. They can basically make them however you’d like but, the menu has some fun options! Enjoyed Toronto while visiting and especially found this spot to be a delicious detour!
Great poutine! A lot of veggie options available. We had veggie classic and buffalo cauliflower, and the classic was our favourite. Decent value for money as well as portions are very generous.Recommended dishesCheese Curds
It was delicious. Just wasn’t as awesome as I thought it would be. The picture is Philly Cheesesteak. We also ordered Bacon and Buffalo Chicken. The latter two were better and richer in taste.
This restaurant seemed like it would be really good, considering they just specialize in a meal Canadians proudly promote. Unfortunately I was unable to eat inside, they wrapped up the dining area very early in the night. The food does NOT travel well. I must have ordered soup, because the fries were swimming in the gravy. There was no texture besides the cheese curds, which were like rubber. On top of taking a bite of mush, it was so bland. I will never return to this restaurant. I suggest that people go somewhere else for a better poutine experience.
We tried the regular and boneless chicken wings poutine, it wasn’t the greatest. Was not happy with the fries and gravy ratio. And there were only 3 pieces of chicken. The place was clean, but it’s certainly overrated for the price. 10.99 per poutine.
First time tying poutine. I definitely see what all the fuss is about. We had the original and chicken bacon ranch. Both were fantastic. Warmed us up on a cold December night.Food: 5/5
As a Montrealer I am fussy with poutine make sure you know how to pronounce it. I was recommended smoke’s and overall pretty happy. Only feedback is add more cheese! I loved the veggie gravy option.
