Smoke Meat Pete

We've been here numerous times as it's on our way in and out of Montreal. Servers are always friendly. We've gotten the cold slabs of meat before and now tried their hot food. The smoked meat was melt in your mouth! We also caught some of the live band for the first time, which was great. Nice atmosphere!

This place was recommended by few close friends and I finally tried it. The environment was unique the staff was friendly, helpful and patient. Needless to say it was the best smoked meat in Montreal, recommended to drink the black cherry drink with it. yet better, it was the best pork ribs that I have ever tasted,keep in mind that I don't eat pork, but it was 100% worth it. Highly recommended. the pictures would speak for themselves.

It was so busy! I got a small poutine and cold smoked meat to go it cost 30$. The line up to get in was crazy but I got my poutine quickly. The people that I was with and ordered a smoked meat poutine had to wait an extra 45 minutes after I got mine for theirs. The environment was decent. The staff were visibly stressed.

I would give it 5* but it's not that great when it comes to customer service. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait too long for our order, but our friends had to wait almost 1hr while their order was ready at the counter. The atmosphere was great, the band was wonderful and the food was delicious.

It’s a family establishment so a big fan. Unusual menu with a bit of Eastern Jewish corned beef and latkes with French Canadian slathering good ribs with real friendly family service. Pickle was good. Sides of just meat was a hot dog and a meat.

One of the locals suggested this amazing smoke meat joint to me. I am always wanting smoke meat when I come to Montreal. This was the first time I had this. It was amazing! Thier smoke meat sandwich and poutine definitely represents Montreal at its finest!

I had read great reviews and finally visited Smoke Meat Pete for the first time. I found the staff to be friendly and inviting, and the the dinery offered a cozy and pleasant environment. I had ordered a "jumbo" smoke meat sandwich, regular poutine and a canned Coke. I have to admit that I was surprised at the $38.00 dollar total! What was even more shocking was the size of the so-called jumbo smoke meat sandwich and especially the size of the regular poutine. The smoke meat sandwich was nowhere near a jumbo classification, was full of fatty cuts, and the bottom bread was soggy. To add insult to injury, the regular poutine was offered in a small sauce or soup bowl? Huh?!? I paid $10.00 dollars for a poutine that would not qualify as a $3.50 add-on at most other places. Normally, I would give a restaurent a second chance, but I was just too disappointed to consider a return visist! I hope others have a more satisfactory dining experience.

One of the best smoke meat. But the coleslaw was not worthy. Portion wise and price was better in this restaurant. Have the poutine too with smoke meat. Cheesecake was a good choice for desert.

I visit and revisit this place and i am always satisfied with the food. On my last visit unfortunately I waited more than an hour around 1h10 for my take out and the spaghetti wasn't as full as usual, it was dryer less sauce. I think there was some kind of bike meeting so I understand it can take more time. We usually order for 4-6 people even if we're only two because the food is worth our travel time.

Good smoke meat, unique ambiance. Ordering process can be a little chaotic. Live band playing on some evenings, fun but very loud. The owner of the restaurant center guy on the video joined the band when we were there.
