Smith Brothers arrived on time, measured the areas to be cleaned and gave me a price. After cleaning was finished the service technician told me he was charging $40 for stain removal. I did a deep vacuuming of all the carpets before they arrived and do not recall any stains anywhere on our carpets. The proper process would have been to alert me to the areas and ask if I wanted them treated. I paid the charge, but I am not happy about the cost…seems especially high for spot removal. We do not eat or drink in any of our bedrooms, so we are confounded as to what stains he treated.Service: General carpet cleaning
Used them on a rental house and the carpets came out like new. But their prices can be high if the size of the job is larger than their package price.
I hired Smith Brothers to clean the carpets and clean two white couches. They charged me $1170 and it took 3 hours. Roughly $600 of this total was for the couches. When the gentleman was done I told him I was not happy with the job. It didn't look to me like the carpets had even been cleaned and while the couch looked better it had grey stripes and appeared to have turned yellow instead of white. The technician informed me he had been doing this work his entire career, he had gone over the couch twice and used spot remover on the carpet. I suggested that he might have similar issue if his own carpets still looked dirty after paying $1170. He suggested I give it time to dry and then vacuum, it might look better as it dried. It didn't. This house was to go up for sale and the real estate agent, the staging lady, and the handy man, all commented on how dirty the carpets looked and said I should call Smith Brothers. My sister came to the house and shampooed a few of the dirtier areas such as the stairs. I called Smith Brothers and told them that we shampooed after they left and the couch still had grey stripes. They did offer to come out and give the couch another pass but we were out of time, the house had to go on the market. At this point I was informed that sometimes the soap they use will discolor furniture fabric. Might have been nice to know that before they were cleaned and discolored. It was suggested I wash what I could in the washing machine on hot. I did run what I could through the wash on cold with no soap at all and they came out much better - at least they were white again. But now the base of the couch is yellow and the cushions are white. The armrests and the base still have grey stripes. I am giving 3 stars because the office staff was really nice and easy to talk to. They took my complaint and offered a solution though, in my opinion, the best solution would have been to offer some amount of refund. I like that the soap they used did not leave the carpet crisp feeling. It seemed to rinse out well. The end result is that I paid $1170 and I am not at all happy with the work they did. My couch is yellow now instead of white, and we shampooed the carpets ourselves after they left. I will not recommend Smith Brothers Carpet Cleaning.Services: Area rug cleaning
Smith Brothers just cleaned my entire home and did a fabulous job. The technician who did the work was courteous and he stretch out a bump in the living room. I would highly recommend them.
