I had hired another roofing company to work on my roof but did have issues. In a legal dispute with them. However, in order to help with the matter, I reached out to multiple roofers in the GTA and Jerry was one of the few that actually was willing to come to my house to perform just an estimate. Knowing that his team won't get work out of it in the short term as I need it purely for my legal matter. While everyone else just either hung up on me or told me to go away Jerry was professional, ethical and most importantly stood by his word. I truly appreciate his work and would recommend him to all anyone moving forward.

Jerry had to remove the old shingles and reroof one of our houses, this was a fairly straightforward job and Jerry and team did it in much the same way they do all projects. On time, meticulously, professionally, and with outstanding after cleanup and minimum disruption to the occupants. Thanks again Jerry! And Darlene is just the nicest and most helpful office manager you could ever want to deal with. Smart Roofing are my roofers and have been for years now. What I think Jerry really excels at is troubleshooting of water/flashing related issues, he brings a proven science to the job. Water problems and damage can be scary and overwhelming, certainly to me. In all my times dealing with SM (now 6 times) they have been super professional, respectful, accommodating. I once had a situation where I had a leak in a flat roof of one of my properties (also last year, lucky me!) and it quickly caused damage to the roof and floor inside. I didn't know what to do, but I knew who to call. Jerry moved heaven and earth to be there and ready to start a big, complex and very arduous job on replacing the flat roof, within days of the rain stopping. And he somehow handled a distraught and crying client at the same time (I swear I'm not usually that way!). I can't say enough about these guys. It's also good to know that if I ever have a problem there are there to take care of it, no questions asked. Jerry and Smart Roofing stand behind their work. I would recommend them any day.

I first used their service to repair my roof last year. This year we decided to replace the entire roof instead. After getting a couple quotes from other roofers, we decided to go with Smartroofing based on their references and reviews we read on Homestars.
As expected, they were professional and efficient. More important, after the installation was done, Jerry came back to inspect the roof and brought his team back to do more follow-up work to ensure the new roof installed met his quality standard. As I said before, they try hard to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

We were excited to hear from Jerry at Smart Roofing at first since there were so many great reviews here. We're new to home-ownership and we were hoping that a professional could educate us about what work was needed and offer some recommendations. Unfortunately it turned out to be a terrible experience.
Jerry was one hour late for the arranged initial meeting with my wife to discuss everything.
He quickly became angry at her for not knowing how to answer whether we wanted a 'basic, medium, or good quality' roof without further details about what each of these meant. We've done some research but we were really hoping for some reasonable recommendations. He actually started shaking his finger at her out of frustration.
Even with the initial phone call, she felt he was quite disrespectful and it got so much worse in person.
After taking a couple minutes to survey the job, he came back in with the quote. He handed over the package and said, 'it's all in there but I'm not even going to bother with answering questions'. He said he already felt like it wasn't a good relationship.
It's almost good that the estimate provided was higher than most others we had received so we didn't have to give it any more thought.
We're just disappointed because the reviews from Homestars and others were very good. Hopefully they can do better for others.
