I popped in here at about 5:00 for a quick Saturday overstay. Got the last available...
an absolutely wonderful NPS run campground! we found a last minute camp spot last night and with our parks pass, only cost $13! each campsite is huge: parking spot big enough to fit a large van, a section with a picnic table and fire pit we had a campfire-made food-strung up a hammock, and they have a second section in the back for a tent! hot showers, clean flushing toilet bathrooms, a camp sink, and water refill stations! the campsite was booked, tons of sweet families with kids, but it was so quiet and peaceful. we had our dog with us. i wish we could stay longer! we would absolutely stay here again! :
There are public restrooms and you can, excellent campsites with grills and bear boxes to keep your food safe in, and they also have a shower! The forest and lakes were beautiful and this place made for a great camping trip this summer! Would definitely recommend going! Be careful to not leave your food out. There are bears but also a great many raccoons!
Check-in was uncommonly speedy and informative. We enjoyed the 1.3 mile walk from loop 1 to the lake. Both bathrooms were clean as could be, and the campground was close to everything we hoped to see on our short vacation. We will be back for sure!
Camped here 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. Came back this year and the park rangers were in a league of there own. Our tire was 2inches off the asphalt pad and we were told we had to move it all the way on. We arrived and got setup on Thursday and then Saturday afternoon we were then told our pop up has to be fully on the asphalt pad as well it was half on and half off when we set it up. We were leaving on Sunday but that didn't matter we had to basically take down everything and then move the pop up on the pad after it has been there for 2 days. We went for several walks around the park and there were vehicles off the asphalt all over the place yet we were being hounded for it. Very annoyed and highly doubt we will ever come back.
One of the best campgrounds. Absolutely nothing to miss here! Spacious, shady and quiet with hot clean shower and bath! I wish I could have been visited here sooner! It is joyful simply by hangout in the campsite. Except, the firewood $7 a box the park sells look like this, but it lasts, after an hour it still burning, just doesn’t create big flames. Be sure to reserve earlier for holiday season. Everything is booked during the Independence Day week.
I wish we had more time at this campground. It was exceptional! Large quiet sites, gorgeous wooded surroundings and super clean bathrooms. We also loved the wooded walk down to the beach, the bird song was incredible. Highly recommend!
Best camping experience ever. The grounds are kept immaculate, the rangers are super friendly and courteous. Proper use of pronouns and inclusivity were bonuses. Would recommend a hundred times over.
I grew up coming here, and always loved it. Nicest campground I've ever been to. Never had a bad experience.
My family camps here every summer and we simply love this campground. Safe feel, clean, rangers are very kind, so were all the fellow campers.
Excellent campground with very nice campsites, each site has its own parking spot, picnic table and fire pit, and there are multiple bathrooms which where also nice.
