I got a notary service from Ms. Mazarei for the house I purchased. One of the responsibilities of a notary is to make sure that the buyer understands the full implications of the transaction, including the covenants on the title that the buyer must commit to. During the appointment with her, she almost explained NOTHING. Her role was only to guide us on where to sign! I had to keep asking her, what we were signing on each page. She reluctantly responded to my questions. When I asked her, let's also review the covenants. She knew NOTHING about them. She started to skim through the covenants during our meeting and told me: I should have read the covenants before I made an offer. Of course, I did my due diligence to understand the covenants before I made an offer! But I also wanted to get an opinion from supposedly an expert!.
