I receive personalized, friendly service from May. The food is always great and is always on time. This restaurant took a hit with Covid and now major construction nearby. I proudly frequent Silver Dragon because the make excellent food and the owners are wonderful, hard working people.
First time and it was awesome! Fresh noodle and rice. Shocked at low star reviews. Gave it a shot and wayy better than any other chinese food place in the white rock area that I've been too.
I order an Egg Roll, an Skewer, Onion Cakes and Pan Fried Dumplings for dinner....................The food was sooo gross, they all had a weird smell to it. I almost threw up. The Egg Rolls looks like a deep fried donut...??? And it had a Sour taste to it, I'm sure it had gone bad. Onion Cakes tasted like Korean Pancake without any seafood. It was okayish. Pan Fried Dumplings smelled like the dish pit, they Reeks. They were drenched in milky yellowish oil. I took a bite and threw them out... Skewer Meh... The food is not authentic Chinese food and definitely aren't freshly made. Never ordering from here again.
I love this place. Best Chinese food in White Rock. Tried several others but just not the same so always keep coming back. Love the hand made egg rolls.
I don’t believe I have ever rated a restaurant before but our experience this evening was so disappointing that I am taking the time to put it in writing. I had often wondered about this restaurant due to its proximity to the parking lot of Coast Capital Playhouse. So I suggested to my friend that we park our cars and walk over for a meal before the performance. We had the dinner for two and it was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I am always up for taking leftovers home but not tonight. The waitress was pleasant but the people who could have been the owners were very annoying, sitting near our table and playing programs or something aloud on their phones. I couldn’t hear my friend properly. Also, the female spoke in an extremely loud voice on the phone and when dealing with customers picking up their orders. The place is big and was nearly empty yet her voice drowned out my friend’s from the far end of the room.
I do not like complaining but my experience with this eatery was mediocre.. I was with a larger party and I was served 5 mins later than the rest of my party. Secondly, my szechuan ginger beef was flooded with honey like glue and was overly sweet and not edible. Then I had to pay a gratuity when I was dissatisfied with my experience. I would not dine here again unless it gets rectified..
Not great. Egg rolls were awful and looked like the exploded in the fryer. Sweet and sour pork was pink and almost tasteless. Almond chicken was very dry. We actually through most of it out. Won’t be ordering again from here.
Over charged me and when I disputed it. Turns around n starts argueing with me in restaurant. I was like wow..i said did I not order 1 combo for the 4 people. She goes yes..i said why u charging me for 2 of these combos.. She goes I brought u 2 combos..i said no u did not ma'am..she goes u pay the bill. I said now I have to pay for what u did not bring me..lol..she got so rude. I said u can have the money and loose my service..sweet n.sour pork was mostly all fat or batter. Coffee was old..very bad tasting. I know I did not appreciate the woman acting that way in front of my 2daughter's ages 6 and 7.
Not horrible, but not great either. I ordered the dry boneless pork, beef and broccoli and beef chow mein. The pork was good, the beef and broccoli was almost flavorless, and the chow mein was literally a bunch of noodles and a few strands of beef. Probably 80 cents worth of ingredients in that dish for close to $15. Definite rip off for that dish. I gave this 3 stars because it was food. Not great food. But it was edible.
Very exciting menu. All your favourites and some pretty special items as well. Prices are great, portions are generous, and the staff is even better. Place really has a great vibe.
