First time we went to white rock, it is really beautiful city and the people here are very friendly. I came this restaurant because one of my friend recommended it to me, this is the first time I try the laksa, very big portion with a lot ingredients. The pancake dip with the special sauce also very impressed, their dessert is very amazing, not very sweet and so yummy. For sure I will go with my friend again. Highly recommend!!
Just found out this place changed hands and the new owner is doing a great job. New dishes are inventive, while the old favourites are still authentic. There was a steady stream of takeout and delivery orders while we were there, but food still came out at a brisk pace. Very efficient kitchen. Highly recommended for old customers and new customers alike.
First time at this restaurant so it's hard to say how the food normally is, but the take out food was very lack luster. The pork was dry and almost tasted burnt. The roti canai was hard and seemed almost frozen. The sauce wasn't bad but was very minimal. I don't want to say anymore as I have only been once, but based on the one experience I won't be coming back. Also the pictures show how much sauce was actually included for the roti canai. Absolute nonsense.
Dropped in for lunch just on the way to the beach. Greatly enjoyed their noodle soup and sweet and sour chicken. Prices are also good. Will definitely have to go there again, when I make my way back to Whiterock.
First time in White Rock, I see this restaurant near the beach. Their foods are gorgeous and delicious. I highly recommend to my friends and families.
Went here for a quick dinner. Sat down with my gf. Took 15 - 20 minutes for the waitress to give us a menu even though only three tables were seated. Elderly couple beside us waited so long for food that they demanded for a refund and left to eat somewhere else. There was a bug in our soup and the noodles with pork was mediocre. The older couple said "this restaurant used to be so good, what a waste". I agree, this restaurant is a waste of your time.
Service was inattentive and lazy. When we arrived we were the only customers but we were left waiting a good five minutes before the waitress brought menus. Then we had to ask to see the lunch special menus. Took another ten minutes before she took our order. Received half cup of tea which was never refilled. No water offered. The food was uninspired. Tiny bowl of hot and sour soup was spicy enough but strangely sweet. My chicken dish had barely any chicken and consisted mainly of onions. I liked the spiciness but it was also strangely sweet. My companion had a different chicken dish and barely ate anything it was so bad. I really don’t like leaving negative reviews but this place is terrible. Don’t waste your time or money. There are plenty of good places to eat in White Rock so I advise you to give this a miss.
Service was good and very friendly. Ordered chicken pad Thai, sesame chicken and hot and sour soup. The food was edible but not exciting in any way. Chicken pad Thai was not pad Thai. It was flat rice noodles with a ketchup based sauce and peanuts. There was very little chicken. Sesame chicken was fair. Looked and tasted a lot like molasses. Hot and sour soup does not have any flavour other than hot and sour. Missing the soup stock flavour as well as the flavour and textures of bamboo shoots, Chinese mushrooms.
We usually order takeout from here quite often and it has been great...but last order of sweet & sour pork with Thia pork and house rice was totally disappointing...while the rice was fine the 2 pork items were terrible...the pork was hard & chewy and felt like you were eating gristle...I hope this is not a continuous practice or change of ingredients but we will be avoiding this place for awhile unfortunately. We gave the harder pieces to our dog.
So sad I ordered from this place on Uber Eats. I have no idea how this place gets 4+ in reviews. The taste is insipid, flavor absent, quantities are meager. The Mongolian beef is smothered in Iodine it seems, medicinal taste. For the price this is the worst choice could’ve made for a Friday evening. I guess have been spoilt by the likes of Tamarind Hill in North Van and Banana Leaf in the West End. This is the most flavorless Malaysian I’ve tasted in a while, and I know my Sambal spice profile, I’ve lived in Malaysia for a couple of years. Stay away unless you’re ok with very mediocre food.
