Visited recently on recommendation from a friend. Wow what amazing food! Best mutton and chicken biryani that we had after we left India couple of months ago. True and authentic Hyderabadi Dum Mutton/Chicken biryani. The spice level was medium, just the right balance of taste and flavour. The tiffins are also scrumptious. Had Idly and Wada.I am elated to find Hyderabadi/Telugu food near to me. Met the owner Muralidhar Reddy, such a nice and polite gentleman. This is the original home cooked food in any Telugu kitchen. Will be back on regular basis. Really delighted to find such amazing Telugu food so close to me.

Great food Consistency always Flavourful Biryani and Masala Dosa are amazing The newly created RESHMI KABAB is so delicious and it is infused with delicate flavour and melts in mouth. There is no strong food coloring or agents. It is all natural Just recently tasted Schewan Dosa a take on Indian dosa with Chinese spice and is amazing
I have been going to shiris for 4 years now and have tried every item on their menu. Love their idly wada combo. Don't miss the biryani with juicy succulent chicken pieces. This review was long due and shiris has a easy win when it comes to south indian food. 2 less star for atmosphere because they have very limited space to accommodate people. Hi, I must say that the food tasted delicious but the naan they served is definitely not Indian. They served pitas instead of roti/puri when they claim it as Authentic SouthHyderabad Indian restaurant? They should be serving chapathi/ roti or puri instead and not some ready-made pitas!
Tried chicken dum briyani and veg thali today after reading reviews . Taste was just okay . But the Raita tasted bad in both thali and briyani . Wish they used quality yogurt.
Haven’t yet eaten over here but from the reviews I’ve had, seems like a great place. Will edit the review once I dine in, excited to taste some good asian food.
We buy the chicken biryani every Sunday from here. We bought this last Sunday and it was a disappointment. I know how their biryani tastes and it used to be amazing. But this one was not, the chicken was soaked in turmeric powder, no spices at all, what happened is that they gave mild biryani instead of the spicy one. Mistakes happen, they admitted the mistake and they give me credit for the biryani. I’m still a customer to this awesome place.
It was good. There wasn't anything special about the food, it was relatively spicy but flavour wise a little lacking. Prices are amazing and the paneer cheese is very nice and soft. I would recommend asking what's available because the menu doesn't seem to contain everything and some things are ordered by mouth only. If I'm craving some spicy Indian in the Waterloo area I would go back.
Shiri’s is one of the best places in the Kitchener Waterloo area for authentic Hyderabadi food - especially Dosa and Biryani. They have good, and authentic Hyderabadi Dum Biryani. Don’t expect an awesome ambience full restaurant experience - you’re coming here for more of an authentic Indian-Hyderabadi tiffin style restaurant experience. Their South Indian items like: Dosa, Idly, and Vada are also awesome!! The only complaint I’ve ever had is the occasional extra salt content in their chutney but everything else is really awesome. The chef is authentic - and the dum style, the dosa making style is all very authentic.. so, for authenticity - this place gets a 10/10.
