A gem in the plaza! Portions were large. Whenever I had questions, the staff graciously explained what were in each of the dishes and overall the customer service was fantastic
Do yourself a favor and bring a full appetite to this fantastic restaurant in University Shop Plaza. I seen multiple people in and out and everyone left with a huge smile. The staff here truly care about your experience. The food is absolutely stunning, unique and unmatched. Tandoori Roti is usually dry and overcooked but these guys nailed it, was cooked perfectly and still slightly moist. Well matched with the Vegetable Biryani and the house curry sauce on the side to drizzle on top. Finished off my meal with some Onion Bhaji and couldn't be happier with the way these guys made them. Lots of Vegan options to choose from so I Definitely recommend everyone come check this place out !!
I would come here with my south asian friends before covid because they they say it's the best biryani in the plaza here here and I agree it's really good. Better than a lot higher end restaurants too. They have spice levels you can customize which I like. First time returning here since the pandemic and I'm happy the portions and taste are as good as I remember. They are also selling gourmet food items in the store now. The owner is always very kind and I appreciate him asking whether I need utensils or not.
We have been enjoying food from this wonderful family's restaurant for 30 years. It's still the best in the region. Top quality ingredients, ample servings.perfectly prepared .Their Naan is amazing , and if you like lamb, the lamb dishes are fabulous. Biryani is delicious, butter Chicken is wonderful. We made the mistake of trying some of the other restaurants locally , but never went back to any of them. Kismet is always perfect . Vegetarian options: They offer a wide variety of delicious vegetarian options . Parking: Sufficient spots but a shared lot. Can be busy at lunchtime
The flavours of Bengali food are very rich, but this place just makes curries with tomato paste and no flavours. It just felt like eating ketchup with maggi flavour in both the fish curry and the lamb curry that I ordered. Quantity was less and quality was bad for the price it served. I would not recommend anyone who are seeking authentic taste and value for money. However the meat was well cooked.
My wife and I both had a fantastic meal at Kismet. She had the chicken curry and I had the lamb curry. The spice was perfect and there was a good portion of food. Will go back again for sure.Food: 5/5
Kismet is a very good restaurant with friendly staff. They take care of your needs and the lamb biryani is the best thing. Also, the butter chicken burger was a unique dish and it tasted so good.
I have been coming here for a long time, close to a decade maybe. They serve the best comfort food. You always leave happy. The main guy behind the counter is friendly and recognizes a face. He provides helpful suggestions too. It makes a wonderful chai tea too. Easily one of my top three places to eat in KWFood: 5/5
I wonder who gave them 4.3 Horrible experience Ordered garlic Nan and delivered plain Nan.
As a student at UW, I’ve been a regular at Kismet for 3 years - really like the food and the people. The portions are large and the food fresh - must check out in the city
