This Walk-in Clinic is a shame for Canada. I went there twice with my ten-year-old son because he was acutely ill and twice I was turned away. It is unbelievable. My son is an international student and visiting Canada as a guest and has no chance of medical treatment despite being dual insured. These are intolerable conditions which I condemn in the strongest possible terms. This clinic doesn't even deserve one star.
I find myself without a Dr. I have wounds on both of my legs. Very sore, hurts to walk. I have been to this Clinic twice now. Very friendly, very helpful, I didn't have to wait long at all. In fact this morning I went for their 8 AM, start. They were taking people a little after 7, I got in and out before 9AM.
I never write reviews for places, but unfortunately the experience I had today prompted me to do so. First, very friendly receptionist and I can empathize that seeing 40+ patients in the span of a few hours as a single doctor can be overwhelming and lead to subconsciously rushing through them. I understand when you have a myriad of symptoms it’s very hard to seek help from a walk-in clinic and it’s better to establish an ongoing patient-doctor relationship for such things. Buuut I, like many, do not have a primary care physician here and so I’m trying my best to medically advocate for myself given my resources. So I went and was seen by Dr. Orzos. I’ve been terribly ill for over a month now on top of having strange and more unique symptoms not just things like fatigue that could point to anything but random rushing that spread all over my body, sharp shooting pains, higher than normal resting heart rate, etc.. I felt ashamed and gaslit for even coming and if it weren’t for the fact I did desperately want bloodwork or something diagnostic I would have just got up and left without finishing the appointment. It felt rushed, I was made to feel bad about not going to emerg if I felt my heart was racing, and was talked down to when I was describing symptoms in the only way I could like describing a sharp shooting pain as nerve pain… because that’s what it FELT like not that I knew that to which I told her I obviously didn’t know if it was x y or z because I’m not the doctor in the situation. I’m just trying to seek help. I was cut off when trying to describe something and I was told it could just be anxiety which is something I’ve never struggled with. The entire thing was frustrating and left me feeling drained. And that type of medical gasliting IS the reason why when there seems to be a larger health concern people don’t go to emerg. Because people don’t want to wait for 8-10 hours to be seen just to feel disrespected and find out they seemingly have nothing because the doctor only gives you a minute of their time. Making this review in hopes it makes someone else feel less alone. Going through other reviews on here with similar situations made me feel less alone.
Pretty fast service but I broke or fractured my foot and got x-rays and they never phoned me with the results. I can't even phone them to get results too because they don't except phone calls? I'm still about sore over 3 weeks later and I'm just treating it as broken. What a waste a tax payers dollars this health care system is. I'm very disappointed.
Very poorly organized. They literally ran out of numbers in the waiting room. I was asked to come back in 20 minutes to get a number, I asked if they wanted my name and they said "no". So when I came back they randomly put me in a waiting order and gave me a number. I've been waiting for four hours now. I would see a family doctor but I've been on a waiting list for 14 months there. I would go to the hospital but the wait time is 12 hours there. I've been in pain for 4 days now... I'm thinking of going to Afghanistan to get better healthcare. #peiHealthcareSucks
The hours need to be updated and more consistent. When you Google or call the Sherwood walk-in clinic the hours say 10-12. If you click on the website the hours are 8-11:30. I called to confirm hours and was told the clinic started at 8:30am. I wish there were two clinics offered again; one in the morning and a second in the afternoon. Otherwise I had no problem with the wait time and the doctor was helpful.
I would give this place an extra star ONLY because of Dr. Shea, but she hardly ever seems to be there so I'm going to focus on Dr. Scantlebury. He is by far the WORST doctor I have ever encountered. I have no family doctor and Sherwood Clinic is what I'm most easily able to get to, so I have been forced to see him many times over the years and not once has he been helpful. You might as well just stay home because you will be no better off seeing him. Every single time he literally has his hand on the door handle and you have maybe 30 seconds before he tries to turn the handle and leave. I have explicitly asked for care several times only to be refused. Not only that but he actually gave me false information. Another review mentioned filing a complaint against him, I think I will do that too.
Horrible service, receptionist/admin is rude, has no blatant care or regard for the health or well being of others. Tried for a week to get in so i could get a note to RETURN TO WORK as I was off for PTSD treatment and needed one to return. Due to the circumstances, I was low on finances, and even after explaining the situation I was asked to pay $25 for a note. When I tried to come back, I was turned away twice without question. Horrible staff, lack care, and crooks to boot. Never go there, you're better off waiting in the ER for whatever you need
Wait 2 hours for less than 1 minute check by doctor. Come at 10AM then clinic full. Work hour on web not updated. Calling no answer… OMG.
The doctor who saw me was very efficient and pleasant which is much appreciated. However my first impression of the place was spoiled due to the receptionist. I had greeted her and tried to be kind and in return I get impatience and rudeness. I understand that a position like that is sometimes stressful and frustrating but if someone is trying to be nice to you there is no reason why you need to be snippy. A smile and a simple hello goes a long way... doesn't take too much effort.
