My wife and I were in town to see the Tiger-Cat game. The front desk greeted us immediately and were very friendly and helpful answering our questions about transportation to the game. There are almost always taxis out front, if not the hotel will call. The room however was a bit of a different story. The good thing is it was clean with up to date features. The bad parts were the black out curtains near impossible to move along the curtain rail. Unfortunately the following we didn't discover until the morning: No coffee, unless you count that fact that the previous coffee pack was still in the coffee brew basket. No face clothes and the body wash bottle was empty in the shower. It was a rookie move not to check for coffee the day before, we've travelled enough to know better in fact that's why we brought instant coffee and just used the coffee maker for hot water. But I did not expect to see old coffee still in the basket. I'm still getting used to all the refillable bottles I'm an old dog I guess so I didn't check them, but I will be adding this to my arrival check list. I would go back, just make sure everything is there that you will want for the morning. Other than the curtains being jacked in that room everything else was quite good.
We stayed here while our apartment was undergoing maintenance, so we had our two cats with us. The pet fee was very reasonable and everyone was very kind and accommodating! Our room was lovely and clean. They put us in a room that was thankfully around a corner and down a side hall from the elevator, so there was barely any foot traffic. Our nervous cat actually relaxed after a very short time thanks to the peace and quiet. The people and pets were were all comfortable, and we were very grateful. It was also very nice to have the Starbucks/Jackson Square downstairs. We had a great time. We'd like to stay here again. :
Good hotel in a good location. The rooms are fairly updated but our room must have been serviced by a rookie plumber. All the taps sink & shower were backwards and the tub did not drain properly when taking a shower.Rooms: 4/5
Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. They compare thousands of booking web sites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the most well known in this area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't be disappointed. Always clean and quiet. Great location. Easy access to parking. Great amenities the 3rd floor deck is so nice to relax on. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance plus they have a great restaurant and bar on site
Nice hotel located in the middle of the busy downtown. The room was accessible and clean. The room had a nice view and we were able to see Toronto in the distance. You are paying more for location than anything else. Not sure that I would walk in this area after dark given the number of locals on the streets.
Clean room, friendly staff. The Starbucks attached to the hotel was very convenient. Parking was available and easy to navigate. We enjoyed the bar but did not eat on site. Overall great experience.
I have stayed in this hotel often over the years and recently stayed in it for the BP concert. I am never down by the staff here. They are always accommodating and friendly. The way the hotel is set up is connected to the mall close, convention centre and close to the first ontario centre. The only thing the hotel lost was the aged rooms. The phones, light switches are so old they seemed yellow with age, the thermostat didn't seem to get warm or cold, just blow the fan. For 300 buck rooms. Pillows were pretty flat/thin on both beds. Other then that the experience was excellent and will book here again. Also its REALLY quiet. Even with the concert booming nearby Rooms: The room itself was okay. It seems aged for the price. Flat pillows. Nearby activities: Near the first ontario centre, convention centre and Jackson square. Close to downtown Hamilton Safety: There is a security guard at the front, you need a room keycard to access the floors with rooms. Underground parking as well Food & drinks: Has its own restaurant which we didn't check out. Attached to jackson square, has its own starbucks
Hotel itself is fine, and restaurant was fabulous, however customer service was and has continued to be absolutely terrible. We had an issue with payment at check in, and the staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful right from the get go. They have now gone against my wishes and charged the wrong card for our stay, and fixing this issue has been a headache. Every time I call I am met with rude reception, and have been unable to actually talk to anyone to fix this issue. I have never dealt with such rude staff at a hotel in my life.
Mine and another dozen vehicles were damaged/broken into while parked in the underground garage in September 2022. Staff were helpful sorting details out with police. Nice hotel other than the less than pleasant crowd that hangs out adjacent to the entrance at night.
We were locked out of our room when we got back from a nearby family wedding at 12:30 am on a Saturday night battery in the door was dead. We had our 6 and 3 year olds with us. 3 year old was sleeping on the floor in the hallway. 6 year old was crying. Overnight manager's solution was to give us a new room and told us we could get into our room sometime the next morning. Manager showed no empathy or concern for our kids. I find in hard to believe that in 2022 there was no way to get us into our room that night without a long delay. How is there no a timely contingency plan in place for these situations - we needed items for the kids and eye glasses - what if it had been an emergency? Would not recommend or return based on how this situation was handled.
