Checked out this place for dinner the other night and we loved it! The food was amazing especially the fries! Burgers were made with fresh high quality ingredients. Staff and owners were really friendly and informed us that the jukebox was free! They even opened it up for us since the restaurant wasn't busy! We will definitely be coming back!
Love the name. Not sure if it's inspired by Ford Shelby or the Peaky Blinders show haha Fast service, clean restaurant, friendly service, and well-packaged. The burgers were decent. Fresh. Tasty signature sauce with a hint of spice. They are smaller than other burgers. The fries were bad. Overdone and stale. I would come back for the burgers, especially the onion ones, and the fast service.
Really impressed with the Shelby burger. I ordered a single Shelby burger with onion rings and a 5$ beer. The food menu is slightly more expensive than your typical fast food chain but with a taste of a quality fancy restaurant. The meet patty is homemade with lots of juicy taste. Took 3 minutes for the food to arrive. Some nice patio tables in a busy corner street
Gave this place another try, while it is a little pricy which is why I personally give it 4 star I also don’t mind paying a little extra at the same time for a quality burger and fries. I had their GT Shelby burger and I usually remove pickles because I’m personally just not a fan of them but left them on.
Ordered for delivery. Got the BLT Shelby Burger and Onion Rings. It was very good! The lettuce and tomato were fresh, crispy and had lots of flavour. Clearly they are using quality vegetables. The burger itself had a great taste to it and the sauce they use is unique and definitely outstanding. Same with the onion rings. Not sure if they are using celery salt, but whatever that flavour was it is certainly delicious.
hit or miss, for me it's a miss. The burgers are very expensive for the tiny sliders. The fries were average. The only thing ok was the chicken nuggets as they are real breast meat.
My first time visiting ottawa and heard great things from friends about the food. We ordered the following about 45 minutes after opening: 2 chicken sandwiches, 1 order onion rings and 1 order sweet potato fries. We waited an hour for our food. In that time, employees constantly walked by us to get things from the supply area without an update on timing or words exchanged. After 35 minutes, I asked how much longer its going to be and got the excuse that they had to wait for bacon to cook for another order that wasn't even mine and showed zero sympathy that we’ve been waiting so long! By the 45 minute mark, I asked about our food again. I had to tell them my order again. There were only about 6 orders hanging on the expo line that came in after us, which I would not consider a lunch rush, and should never take that long. I asked how it could possibly take so long for our small order and the employee said she was so hungover that she was going to throw up in the food, so the other employee needs to cook by themselves. Of course my jaw dropped as to why an employee would even admit this to a customer, but you could tell she was hungover the moment she took our order. She apologized many times but never offered a solution. 10 minutes later after waiting at the counter, we received a single tray with just our sandwiches. I had to remind them of our onion rings and sweet potato fries and they said they already gave us the sweet potato fries but really they were given to the other table. She then put our order in the fryer, so clearly they messed up our order. We ate our sandwiches which were actually very good but then had to walk back up to ask for our sides that were packed up in takeout containers. The onion rings were good but the sweet potato fries were black and tasted horrible, completely over cooked and inedible. What was supposed to be a quick meal ended up taking an hour. We witnessed 2 customers ask for refunds, and 2 delivery people that waited over 30 minutes, the other customers were still waiting when we left. In summary, sandwiches were good but customer service was terrible. We have no desire to dine there ever again.
I had the Onion Shelby. Literally the best burger I have ever had. My friend had the BLT Shelby and it was also delicious. We observed a girl eating her burger and her eyes were rolling lol. Service was also super friendly and welcoming! Will be back for sure!
Have been to Shelby burgers twice now and always happy with my meal. Simple burgers with great taste. Reminds me of shake shack. I’ve tried the double Shelby burger and the BLT Shelby. Both very enjoyable. The Shelby sauce is a must! Make sure to ask for extra on the side, you won’t regret it. Their onions rings are probably the best I’ve had! The fries on the other hand were a tad underwhelming- the fries were all small/short and very hard to grab to dip. Sweet potatoes fries are well seasoned but the cut is a bit thick which causes them to be not-so crispy and flimsy.
Don’t order the fries if you are going to get it delivered. The fries cost 7$ and they came extremely soggy. Don’t get me wrong the burger is good, however, they put the fries in a sealed packaging which isn’t ideal if you want non-soggy fries. I’d consider eating here again if they put the fries in a more open packaging so they can actually steam into the air.
