What a great place. Delicious dinner of 8 items for about 70$. The Briani rice is excellent and fantastic portion. Butter chicken has great flavour, it could be a bit less tomatoes. All flavours are lovely, and it feels like they are made with care Definitely a bit messy on delivery, but that's given based on the saucy nature of this cousin. I will definitely recommend.

Ordered from here today. The korma tasted nothing like korma I have had from Other excellent Indian restaurants, and was extremely disappointing. The other dish I ordered was also very disappointing. I would not order from here again. If you think this food is great you must not have had really good Indian food before.

We were looking to dine here, but only came out disappointed. My group was staying at Hamilton and wanted to try an Indian restaurant before leaving and this is what we initially selected. We set a date to eat out and checked the restaurant's operating hours: it closes 10:00 PM on Thursdays. We arrived sometime before 7:20, but was surprised when the waiter told us that they are not taking any more customers because the kitchen will be closing soon. This was a surprise because at the time there was at least one table of 2 diners presently eating still. It was also still fairly early in the night just after 7PM. Additionally, the waiter told us that we should have called the restaurant first before coming in to reserve a table. That does not make sense. As prospective diners, we did our due diligence in checking the timings of the food place. The SOP is to call in for reservations if it is a really busy restaurant, or to reserve for big groups or for special functions. For whatever reason, It was not right for the waiter to shift the alibi of not being able to serve to us.

Really great. Now my favourite Indian restaurant in Hamilton. Their place looks kind of run down on the outside, though. They could modernize the exterior and refurbish the signage to make this a better location for group/business outings or dates.

Best Biryani ever! We ordered for takeout for a potluck for Diwali party. In Hamilton it’s already scarce to find good places to eat and this was the best we found. Must visit

We regularly order from Shehnai and on a good day, the food is amazing. We’ve also had a few hard misses from them. Some of our favorites: tikka masala anything, kashmiri chicken, dal makhani, saag paneer on a good day, samosas. The butter chicken and shrimp phatia are also good. They often can’t deliver even if you choose that option online, but will call to let you know soon after ordering. Don’t expect to get your takeout any earlier than 6. Overall, great value - we get a few meals out of an order. Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options - we love their samosas, dal makhani, paneer tikka masala and on a good day the saag paneer

Not sure what happened - ordered many times before and it always been good quality and tasty. Last night ordered a few dishes and all were off. Sag paneer had no flavour, daal tasted as if the spices were not cooked, grainy texture. Naan was underbaked and still had raw dough in places. It’s almost as if they have a new cook? Or new recipes? Too bad as it was always my go to but now I’m hesitant to give it another chance.

Oh my goodness! I bought a lamb dish that not only tasted delicious, but the portion size was enough that I had leftovers from a $13 meal! For lamb! And it wasn't half bones either. I will definitely be suggesting this restaurant to everyone I know, and I'll be visiting again as soon as I can. Vegetarian options: My friend had two vegetarian/vegan dishes that were delicious. She enjoyed them a lot and I also tried some because the portion size gave ample leftovers, yum! and they were delicious. She had a rice dish and an aloo dish.

Great portion sizes. Really taste dishes and appetizers. Have ordered from here a few times now!

Me and my girlfriend love this restaurant and eat it on a weekly basis. They are extremely nice people who work here. And we have yet to be disappointed. Thank you so much.
