We always thought of operating our own restaurant as we used to get lots of compliments from family & friends visiting us & having a meal at our home. It took us few gatherings till we realized that we need to start doing what we love the most preparing food & creating a smile on the face of our guests. Great flavour always but the portions and service is not consistent. I’ve been three times this month.. yes I love shawarma!… The first visit was totally brag worthy… I enjoyed an authentic wrap large made to perfection and couldn’t wait to order again a few days later. Then ordered two more times in the following week and the same wrap was barely half the size, fries under cooked and couldn’t taste the garlic sauce. Everything was much less. Thought I’d try again damn cravings!…. and then was last nights “large wrap”…. Might as well call it a small. Pop can for size reference.
This is one of the best, if not the best Shawarma restaurant in Ontario. I recently tried their Saj Shawarma and the least I could say is that it was delicious. This is an understatement. Also, shoutout to the phenomenal and amazing people who work there, they served me a free plate of shawarma topped with their delicious Garlic sauce. I’m in campus so I’ll be visiting them very often. They have earned themselves a loyal customer
Ir should be one of the best Shawarma in KW. Even better than other Shawarma plus branches. I used to order English style Shawarma which has lettuce, tomato, and onions. Also they have an offer two chicken Shawarma for $19 which is reasonable. It used to be $14 before corona and they were offering Arabic tea .
Ordered 2 saj wraps. one chicken, one beef. 30 minutes for my order. 2 years ago I openly said shawerma plus was the best in the region. It has completely changed and fallen off. the meat in both was incredibly dry and flavorless. the sauce was weak. the saj bread was still great but never in my life have ever had to throw shawarma out. I threw out both yesterday. I $30 spent on the driest, flavorless shawarma I have ever had in my entire life. This isn't the first time either, I had to reach out to the owner once before in regards to the chicken saj but since many months had passed I figured I would try it again. Unfortunately it has gotten even worse. I think they cut back the quality on their food to save money to open up another location, now the waterloo location is worse than any other shawarma restaurant in Kitchener-Waterloo.
These guys are awesome! They know me by name and face. When I order online they have my order ready for me by the time I walk through the door, greeting me with a welcoming smile. The food is amazing, deserving of all the awards they have received. My family have dietary restrictions and they do an amazing job making sure they are safe with our food following safety precautions and even remaking our diner once when one person didn’t follow proper protocols. Jawad Shawarma wrap has really good flavour but sauce was not evenly distributed, lots of spots were too dry. Should ask for extra sauce next time. Might be Uber inflation but my falafel were tiny and not worth the high cost. Tasted pretty good though.
False Advertising — Stopped in there looking for a falafel plate with hummus. Looked at their video menu board and saw a lovely plate with falafel, salad, hummus with olive oil and lots of rice. Fantastic. You're allowed two sides so I asked for rice and veggies like the photo. Asked if hummus came with it. The guy said, I'll give you hummus on the side. I replied you don't to give it to me, I'll buy it. I just want hummus like on the menu — pointing to the image of the falafel plate with about 1/2 cup of hummus. He got condescending at that point and like, relax bro, you'll get your hummus. Anyways.... you can see from the pic what I got was kinda busted. Like, I don't care if I have to pay extra, just be honest. Yeah whatever, I'm a Karen. Otherwise the food was good, portions are excellent. Inside is cozy with bench seating.
Whenever I want Shawarma, this is my go-to place. The staff are great and always make my wrap correctly. Their chicken is delicious. The price is reasonable. Highly recommend to anyone.
I ordered for the first time from this place and it is now at the top of my list of fav places to eat. I ordered the Lamb Kebab wrap, Arabicana style, with a side order of fries, my son ordered a Chicken Shawarma plate, and then I ordered a pecan cheesecake slice. I had a bite of the lamb kebab and wow it is so tasty! when they say charbroiled you can definitely taste it in the meat. Plus lamb can be quite tough if not cooked properly but these lovely people know just how to cook it. It is a real pleasure to eat. My son ordered the chicken shawarma, now I didn't taste it but we ordered extra meat and no kidding that container is packed. Oh let's not forget the French fries, now I will admit when I saw them at first glanced I misjudged them as being the average, basic fry but to my surprise it was also quite tasty. I have a side order of garlic mayo and dipping the fries in this just levels up the game. If you haven't tried Shawarma Plus I encourage you to give it a chance. By the way, all of the meat is halal! I called them directly to double check and they confirmed it. Halal matters in this life :
Tried their Jawad, English and Authentic chicken shawarma wraps. They were ok, not the best. I guess the garlic sauce is not the greatest and that makes a whole lot of difference IMHO. Overall a good experience with customer service. Thumbs up for the Halal menu : Dietary restrictions: Halal
