There is nothing like a freshly set of sharpened Japanese knives. I’m always pleasantly surprised when I visit the Sharpening House. Maybe it’s the price, the speed, or the quality. I always go back. Photos of the resultant product doesn’t do them justice. See you next time, Sharpening House!
Doris is very sweet when you get to meet her, and the process was quicker than I thought 30 min for 3 fabric sheers. The pricing for the sharpening was reasonable as well, very glad I found them. I also like how they texted you back when the items are ready.
I can't say enough good things about this place! Brought 10 kitchen knives and two pair scissors, and all came back beautifully sharp, and were ready the next day. Greats service, great prices and friendly to boot. Can't recommend enough.
They did very nice work on a very intricate set of carving tools. They did an even better job than Quality Saw, and in half the time and for 50 dollars less.
The best place to get your knives sharpened! We brought in two Wusthof kitchen knives with less than stellar cutting performance. Turnaround time was super quick, and the staff were super friendly. After sharpening, the blades were definitely sharper than even the factory edge!
Not only did they sharpen my good kitchen knife and axe to the sharpest they've ever been but they completely polished the blades back up and they both look brand new heavy use for about 5-6 years on each before this. Can't believe how amazing they both cut, feel, and look now. And incredibly well priced. My favourite store in Vancouver. I wish I had more dull knives so I could take them in.
I brought my sewing scissors to be sharpened. One pair had hit a pin so they were in rough shape. The service was so fast and so well done. They even came back shiny! Thank you so much!
These guys are pure greatness. Went in yesterday with a knife I made at home just to have a final edge put on it after I had worn out a stone on this ridiculously hard steel. One hour turn around and I could shave a fly's wings. And to my surprise, they gave the entire knife a polish that took it from looking like something home made to looking like I paid alot of money for it. Highly recommend these guys and I'll be taking all my hard steels to them in the future
I always bring my knives here to get sharpened and it is a pleasant experience each time! They’re conveniently located between Broadway and Olympic Village Canada Line. Staff are very, very friendly and are always happy when I walk in. It took around 30 minutes to sharpen my two knives, but the time it took speaks for their dedication and attention to detail. They also only accept cash and debit!
The best! They sharpened my haircutting scissors and it's the sharpest I've ever had. They are also very quick, they were finished within a couple hours. Would highly, highly recommend.
