Brought him a pocket knife to sharpen and it came back with a completely different edge profile. Not much attention to detail and not a fine edge put on. The knife was crazy sharp with a "toothy" edge which i would have liked to be more polished. If you value your pocket knife, maybe look somewhere else. If your looking for a beautiful Mirror polish edge, something more refined or have a special knife in mind I cannot recommend this service. Maybe try House of Knives in North Van, Maxim is a blade lover and will treat your coveted blade with love and respect, there is a wait time depending on how busy they get. Expect about 3 days wait or more if they are busy. On the other hand I did bring him a cheep kitchen knife which he also completely change the grind on without notifying me, not a big deal on this knife which came back with the same sharp toothy edge easily refined with a home sharpening kit if you are into that. The convenience of the service coming to you is pretty sweet but it depends on how many knives you've got to sharpen especially with gas as is now. However, If you need a boat load of knives SHARP, FAST, and you don't want to go anywhere or wait too long to get them back, this is your ticket.
This guy trashed every knife I gave him. Big miney knives. If you care about your knives go elsewhere. He has no idea what he’s doing. Hack.
Dan did a great job. Came on time, sharpened several knives for us, at a reasonable cost. Definitely recommend Dan's service.
This is one of Vancouver's best kept secrets. Dan shows up, I hand him all of my knives even the serrated ones and a few minutes later he returns them beautifully sharp. A dull knife is a dangerous knife!
Such a great service!!! Dan was quick and efficient, and got a huge dent out of one of our good knives we thought was a gonner. They'll be sharp!
